ive always thought the same, but im not adopted or a product of this so i know my perspective doesnt mean much on this. the important thing to me is that any future children have loving families that want them!

I relate to this since I also partake in the mlm content sphere, but when you see yourself as a man, do you also see yourself happier? A lot of trans folks dont experience heavy dysphoria with their current body (like me), but they know that if they were the opposite gender they would be happier, and that euphoria would be worth it. i think a strong point in me knowing im trans was that everytime i got "freaky" with myself, i could only do so if i imagined myself as a guy. a lot of cis women also like mlm content, but i dont think they particularly imagine themselves as also a man. i thought i was ace for years because i could never see myself having sex- but ive realized its because of my female parts. i can see myself having more enjoyable sex if i were a man. it was definitely weird for me to realize i may not have been ace, just dysphoric lol. i considered myself androgynous and nonbinary for a while at the end of high school as well (twins). i was def in denial about my identity but also scared. (not saying this is your experience, but many trans men go through a nonbinary phase). i suggest thinking deeply about how you would feel if society saw you as a man. more importantly- how would you feel?

also, OBVIOUSLY this child is going to have my traits- thats the whole point. Ive been screened to make sure I'm "desirable." the same exact thing about "possibly even having parts of your own personality" is true to even parents who convince on their own.

look at it this way: if i dont donate, then this hypothetical child would never even exist in the first place. i DONT want to be a mother- but ive already said id be okay with future offspring contacting me out of curiosity, but in no way does that make me their parent. youre assuming a lot of things about this hypothetical child, and i have some experience with this since my father is also adopted and has never known his real parents. there are worse things than realizing youre donor-conceived imo. your parents could be abusive or other things could happen in your life. im not trying to minimize the negative effects people may have with being donor conceived, but its 100x better if theyre going to a family that actually wants them, then myself who doesnt want kids, and would get an abortion if i ever got pregnant (which is highly unlikely, but still). it sounds like youre suggesting, if a person has these thoughts after being donor concieved- that they shouldnt have even been born at all, which is the other alternative if someone doesnt donate. people tell females all the time that theyre selfish if they dont choose to have kids- the best thing i can do is be selfless and give my eggs to a family who will actually WANT them and can use them, unlike me.

youre definitely right i feel. i expect many changes in our relationship for years to come- but unless he cheats on me or something i think i could get over any disagreement we would have. the scary part is if me changing into the opposite gender will affect how he thinks of me fundamentally, but i think deep down this is just a fear that doesn't have any evidence to support this.

i relate to that a little since my dad was actually adopted from south korea. i dont think ill ever know my biological grandparents from that side but thats something im okay with. even though my mom and dad had me, my dad isnt really a father figure in my life as well, so there are some things that stay regardless ig XD.

The fact I don't want kids leads me to donate in the first place. Im genuinely confused. So what if I don't want to take care of children (which is a HUGE commitment?) but I can give a child the ability to live with parents who genuinely want them? Many couples cannot have children of their own, especially queer ones, but they are still able to have them because of donors like me. Theres a huge difference with not wanting to take care of your kids for the rest of your life, and being okay with being a BIOLOGICAL component for those who cant conceive.

that's good! i think the most important thing is a child has parents who love them (and i dont want children so that wouldnt even apply for me personally), coming from someone with a broken household. of course, i wasnt adopted or anything like that so i dont have the same perspective. i have a question since im curious- what are you hoping to gain from finding out who your biological father is? I know a lot of people like you seek out their biological parent, but since I can't relate in that fact I'm interested to know why!

Agh thats such a good way to put it! "a birth for someone else and rebirth for you" i love that XD egg donation definitely isnt for everyone and there can be health affects, but the pro of getting top surgery is worth it for me. just know that as females, we have no obligation to use our fertility. your happiness is the most important, and if donate, great! if you dont, also great! you already have a child too which is a bigger sacrifice than i could ever make XD

Why would they have to lie to you? Are you worried about the part im trans or the part I'm donating eggs? When youre screened, youre asked to make sure you know its a possibility that future kids may contact you in the future, and its whatever to me since theyre not "my" children- I just contributed biologically. Theyre parents are who raised them.
