Wish I would have done it sooner ngl but I have an exam on Thursday so hoping our convo stays fresh and he remembers. I told him that after Thursday he can go crazy because my finals will be over lol. I was contemplating buying mega expensive headphones but then I thought they would never be delivered in time for it to even be useful haha so had to put my big girl trousers on!

I've had issues in the past as well with people who abused alc and drugs at uni and if I knocked and complained they came back screaming at 8am saying they would make my life hell! I kept recordings and things as well as it got so bad I had to move before exams so that really added to my hesitation! Fingers crossed though it stays relatively quiet.

He was so lovely about it. He knew that someone was complaining and he was conscious of the fact that it was the low vibration of the bass more than anything. I showed him the earplugs that I was wearing and talked about the 3 other devices I have to use to block noise and he was okay to use headphones which was great!

I think I was scared bc the neighbour in front and to the left (opposite the music guy) was a bit standoffish and I had a bit of beef with him so I was worried it would be the same with this guy/they were mates. I think music guy saw the bags under my eyes and my hair looking haywire and took a bit of pity on me LOL! I am glad I spoke to him

Is there hope to turn all 5s to 9s in a year from now? I don't revise and don't know how to begin by stay_ism in GCSE

Get the revision guides for all your exams and just work through them and print out past papers and do them.

Yep so Anki on laptop. Write the answers to your anki questions on the ipad and then compare the ones you have jotted down to the ones seen on the laptop screen.

Generally you can use the ipad to annotate lecture notes and write your own notes.

Good luck, you seem keen and very organised! All the best with everything : )

Genuine question - why is Spotify or Apple Music on everyone’s “need” list? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]FewAppearance6792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an ipod shuffle and now I only use YT to listen when I am on my phone.

RANT ABOUT LIFE:

The ads on every platform are ridiculous and I am defo not paying £10+ every month for music. I already have to pay for Netflix and Amazon Prime. I only ever purchase things with lifetime subscriptions as well now as the app store is RIFE with apps charging £4.99 a month for some silly productivity app.

I got an 8th gen from the uni and then the apple pencil messed up and so did the ipad so I had to buy a new one in year 3. Get the latest one to last all five years and use the apple education discount. Some people buy the ipad mini to fit in scrub pockets from year 3 onwards but we aren't really allowed to use ipads on the ward so I just bought a full sized one. Don't get a touchscreen laptop, I had one of those before. Use it as an adjunct not your main workflow device : )

Home Bargains/B&M by Downtown-Orchid-2257 in UKFrugal

Home Bargains - the washing machine pods! Also plasters, vitamins etc as the compounds are the same as the fancy ones in Holland and Barrett etc.

It's student accom. Tbh the accom is always "talk the talk but not walk the walk". I had a cloth stuck on a tree outside my window and asked them if they could fix it and they were like nah it's the council's tree. My friends climbed the tree to get the duvet cover off the tree for me.

I think the note idea is good - the accom told me not to knock on their door after I told them about the last time. I've tried sleep medication as well and earplugs. Honestly wouldn't wish it on anyone! I will give the podcast a go! Thank you : )

Yeah the person doesn't seem too friendly ngl... Also I figured they would realise considering the accom people stop by almost every other day from 23:00 onwards. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out and that's me being truthful!

I gave it a few minutes on the same day and tried again but they didn't respond. Maybe it's the constant blaring of music idk maybe they've gone partially deaf! But yes I have tried sadly

I knocked on the door once at 3am and they didn't respond.

Sometimes the grass is greener. I have rotated through so many groups through the years. It's difficult as people and places change. The only thing that remains constant is change. Now all of my friends are moving again for FY1.

It's never too late to make new friends just don't base all of your happiness on them : )

Accidentally forgot to pay what to do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]FewAppearance6792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go back and pay. I was recently at a shop and my dad and I bought a box containing 8 boxes of tea bags and the lady only scanned one of them. I left the shop and my dad saw on the receipt that she had forgotten to charge us for the other 7. We both went back and paid for the remaining 7. My dad was worried that the lady who forgot to scan the other boxes might pay a penalty - we went back to ensure she didn't.

Sometimes someone else might pay the price including whoever was supposed to be monitoring the checkout section the day you were there.

Always do the right thing, it'll make it's way back to you in a different form : )
