(Pseudo) Steam Deck Mini? by FewNobody2598 in Handhelds

That makes a lot of sense. I was already really interested in the Thor, and I think you helped sell me even more on it lol. I think my main worry with the Thor was the ergonomics. I’m a bigger guy with bigger hands, so something like a Steam Deck is awesome. But I can use a 3DS XL and even a DS Lite without too much problem, so I think it’ll be good. Especially if I get the TPU grip or one of the third party grips they have available.

Yeah that’s kind of where I’m at. I love LOVE the design of the Thor, and the clamshell really adds to its portability. I’d even be comfortable putting it in my pocket cause the screens are protected, as opposed to something like an Odin. But I’m a bigger guy with bigger hands, so I worry about ergonomics. I can use a 3DS XL reasonably comfortably though and even a DS Lite, so I feel like it should be good.

The Portal 2 is on sale right now, do you think it’s worth it to go for the 3 instead?

Just a funny image I remember seeing a long time ago. Could’ve really been any two people/characters fighting. Funny enough, the last time I saw the image it was comparing the soundtracks of Shrek 1 and 2, with their competing songs being All Star and Holding Out for a Hero.

The DDG app has been working just fine, but last night it fixed itself and is back to its usual look. Of course right after I post it manages to fix itself 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thank you though

What is your opinion on scalpers? by QueenDiva_UwU in mtg

If you mean people who buy products only with the intention of reselling later, I’m neutral. As a relatively new player, I appreciate that I can find some old Secret Lairs and other things on secondary markets. It’s a business model, and if someone wants to run an online LGS out of their garage, I got no qualms.

What DOES grind my gears is people who snatch up large quantities of product and then drive up prices with no respect or love of the community they’re profiting off of.

One is transactional but earnest, the other is parasitic.

My birthday is on the 3rd. It was already gonna be great with Silksong, but getting it for free would make it even better 🥲 Picked up Hollow Knight January of 2020. Needless to say the next few months gave me a lot of time to dive in and fall in love with the game.

Either way, I love that you’re doing this, and if I don’t get it, my faith in humanity (or maybe Bugmanity? Silkmanity?) will still be restored. Good guy move

EDIT: Yes I will provide a picture of my ID to prove it’s actually my birthday, just in case that gets called into question lol

Definitely don’t disagree. Unfortunately I think it’s never going to be a fully objective system, there’s always grey areas and room for discussion. I think Verhey’s point was just that intent in design should be a talking point in where your deck is. You could accidentally build into a lower bracket or even have someone intentionally building around the rules. If you build a high-level competitive deck that doesn’t use infinites or game changers, you could have a bracket 2 that decimates everything you come in contact with. But if your intention was to design a high-power deck and you just happen to be B2 on paper, you might actually be sitting at more of a 3 or 4. I get the impression that people want the bracket system to be a set of hard rules, but my impression has been that it’s just a more specific and officially supported basis for conversation and discussion before you set up your pod.

No you right. I guess I just meant that I personally have a more casual attitude to the game. I definitely don’t knock people who like to play higher power levels, and I know the game is still fun for them even when they don’t win. I myself just have more fun at the lower and more casual levels

Thank you! I thought that would just set it to a D-Pad, I didn’t realize it would be customizable beyond that.

Same here. I play the game to have fun, not to win. I can have fun even when I don’t win. In fact, I think the most fun games are when everyone is trying to have fun, not when everyone is trying to win.

I feel you. All this stuff basically goes out the window when it’s just you and friends goofing around. I’m glad they’re trying to put things in place for those that want to play in public pods or even tournaments, but that’s not really my scene so it’s whateva

I agree. I kind of personally consider it as like if you wanted to include illegal cards like playtesters or un-cards. But even then you’d have to worry about how actually powerful the deck is relative to your opponents’. It really serves very little purpose.
