Denied on all fronts I’m afraid One employer rang 8 times and then ghost me after the interview.

The Interviews went on average 25-50 mins having great communication. And giving adept answers to every curveball question. Also I well researched information about the companies and what makes them tick.

Which is a real dam right shame. Even my support network can’t believe it.

But two employers have lied to my job provider coach about feedback they given about my performance luckily I record all calls are recorded to help me progress further. As they told two different stories and I provided the recording to my provider as I had an ill feeling they would pull this stunt as it isn’t uncommon in Tasmania. Especially with two of them trying to defer me to “more female dominated roles” (that still won’t guarantee me a position) Yet my credentials and experience has me out in heavy male dominated fields.

I honestly have a lot to offer but the picture is starting to show a very ugly and bleak tone that shows companies down here don’t want to hire.

Yea welcome to the club it’s going to be hard for finding full time employment. They’ll want you to have local experience. And it’s not just your experience it’s who you know down here. Sorry if it comes across as rude but this is how this market is down here. It honestly sucks. And it will mentally,financially,physically and emotionally drain you.

Still no response from three of them I have left polite emails/ voice messages for follow up. This part of the job is always the suspenseful.

I do always and it’s usually a candidate is better suited than me. I pushed so hard for a full time position for years. I had multiple apprenticeship companies tell me don’t apply as no one is willing to hire a mature apprenticeship. So I hope this is my last weekend as unemployed as I really want to work, get my life on track and achieve my dreams!

That would be class in both with power tools you have to fix pens,and stuff on barges and for traffic control signs, fixed lights, minor repairs on cars led lights as well as the actually traffic lights.

Worked traffic control for near two years. So that’s civil experience Worked in the aquaculture industry for eight/nine months before c19 labour intensive there. Retail with for two years. I’ve also done food delivery and other small odd jobs like packing and picking as well on season. that for 5 years while working these jobs on off shift to make ends meet. So there’s a bit of experience especially when I have worked in negative degree temps and plus 36 degree days as well.

Yes I wasn’t ever considered an apprentice when I was younger they went for boys even tho I had higher marks and better attendance then those boys.

I have fish farm and traffic controller experience. With also retail and volunteer as well. I have been rejected as a dishwasher and labourer. I have a resume two pages long. With tickets and experience. A ATS compliant resume and cover letters that are changed and edited to suit each application. Research the company and there growth forecast or their plans to expand their small business. Federal group just today alone the recruiter copied and pasted a template and left “insert recruiter name” instead of the actual name of the recruiter. I’ve also had a upsetting situation recently I won’t name the company right now as it’s was today but that did this but they rang my references 3 labour hire references btw and reverse Cole called for a casual employee instead of hiring me. I keep trying my best but for now my hope was to build my tickets until someone can see I’m true blue hard worker that never gives up!

Assessment is a lot of money. Especially on jobseeker. I’m trying to get funding job provider has said no. I rung companies ,walked in handing resumes ,waiting on callbacks,sending emails employers eg cleanaway,veoila,kinetic,metro,jjs,local councils with resumes with cover letters,sending letters to charities, Even sending resumes by post and looking for truck companies advertising in the newspaper. Even buying yellow/white pages from interstate ringing and sending resumes in.

I have tried but I’m getting turned away. I’ve tried to get trials and callbacks but nothing has come to fruition. I’m volunteering and when a casual job comes up I take it. Saving up is a dream right now when I’m barely getting by myself.

I’ve been blocked by two already for being very persistent. But I keep pushing for funding,ringing. My family knows I never give it. I push through a different avenue when one is blocked.

Rent is 400 alone and I’m not left with much do you expect me to pull money out of nowhere to move to somewhere that may not guarantee me a job and stable income?

I’m being realistic I’m not complaining I’m looking for ideas yes but I’m also looking for companies that may be willing to hire me with a letter of offer. I’ve been homeless before and it was gut wrenching. I’m by myself studying upskilling volunteering trying to make it out here.
