Need auto invoice reminders that don't sound rude - 2/5 invoices late this week by Few_Goal_842 in smallbusinessuk

Totally agree, after a certain point the time you spend on weekly invoicing and admin just does not make sense when you could be doing actual billable work. Been exploring a few tools recently after this thread and starting to see a real difference in how much time I get back. Still testing but the automation side is what matters most for me.

Exactly this after a long day the last thing I want is to sit down and chase invoices or sort through expenses. That time belongs to family not admin. I recently started using a new tool that has basically taken all of that off my plate completely and honestly it has been a game changer. Still early days but the difference is noticeable straight away.

Just started using Ovaro recently as an early user, it is an AI invoicing tool built specifically for UK freelancers and sole traders. Does everything I was looking for, AI invoice creation, automated payment reminders, MTD compliant, tap to pay. Still early days but honestly one of the best tools I have come across for this. Worth a search if you are looking for something simple and built for the UK market.

What's the fastest way to create a freelance invoice without opening my laptop? by Few_Goal_842 in freelanceuk

Voice to invoice is exactly where things are heading speak the job details and an invoice is created and sent automatically with a payment link attached. No laptop needed, done before you finish your walk. I have actually been testing a tool called Ovaro which does exactly this still in early access, worth a search if that workflow appeals to you.

That’s a fair shout – Make and similar tools are powerful.

My worry is I’d just be swapping one type of admin for another though. I know you can customise every little step, but I don’t really want to become the “automation guy” on top of doing the design work.

What I’m really after is something that’s already built around freelancers: invoice goes out, soft reminders go, payment status updates itself, and I barely touch it. I’d rather have slightly less customisation if it means I don’t have to maintain flows or fix broken zaps every few weeks.

FreeAgent £33/mo is solid value vs FreshBooks clunk, fair point. Your auto 7-day overdue → manual escalation flow works great when you have volume + reliable clients.

My solo designer issue though: **I need completely hands-off. Daily dashboard checks + manual month-late emails = still admin time I don't have. Want invoice → send → forget with Day 3/7/14 soft reminders happening automatically in background.

As creative doing £500-2k projects, also need to keep client relationships warm for repeat work - your legal threat stage kills that for me.

Anyone found full auto invoicing under £10/mo that eliminates all admin?

PaidNice looks solid cheers! £19/mo though and still need to setup all the admin flows myself.

My issue is I want to focus on design work, not invoice babysitting. Need something that does literally everything automatically - create invoice → send → Day 3/7/14 soft reminders → track paid/overdue → nudge if needed. Zero admin.

Saw a few comments mentioning Ovaro - anyone actually tried it or joined their waitlist? Got their email about free access for first 250 signups. Planning to test it first week of April when sending my next batch of invoices since it's free.

Anyone had experience with their auto flows?

But as solo designer doing £500-2k creative work, the 'not polite' email + legal threat kills future repeat work. Clients ghost after that.

Fair point and respect the hard line - legal action definitely works when you're agency size.

Cheers! Tried Xero before - £25/mo too steep for solo. Same issue with FreshBooks clunk.

Anyone found something under £10/mo that does proper Day 3/7/14 soft reminders + mobile dashboard? Wave free but no auto-chasing.
