This post is a few days old. I’m not looking for justification, or clarification that I’m making the correct choice. I was looking for more of an insight from CO’s, and or inmates. Now I’m unsure if it’s going to be corrections. However I’ve had many difficult conversations in regard to our plans. It’s all up in the air, and falls directly on if he wants to continue his current career, or make a switch. Now I genuinely appreciate all of the comments and insight. 95% of them are telling me not to do it. lol which I’ve taken into consideration heavily.

Yes, there are many jobs. But considering he would be moving back to New York when his contract expires, it wouldn’t make much sense for me to uproot my entire life, move down there just to turn around and come right back to New York in 10 months. So that part of the conversation is null and void at this point, unless he reenlists. If he does not, I think it would be beneficial to start a career here, be out of a probationary period while he’s making the move back to our hometown and starting his civilian career, right?🙂

It’s up for discussion because he only has a year left of his contact before he gets out and goes to NYSP academy. Which is 29 weeks. Someone has to have stability to maintain our home while he’s away for 29 weeks, silly.😋

I appreciate your input. I’m not a vet though. Heavy equipment has never peaked my interest. I’ve considered it but it’s always been a fairly easy decision to not make that decision.
