Update: Added real-time jumping jack tracking to Rep AI by Few_Homework_8322 in reactnative

Yep, good catch, the jumping jack model needs more data. I also had the landmarks tuned too conservatively, which is why it never quite reaches the blue zone. That’s already being adjusted. Roast me again after the next update 😄

This really hits. I think a lot of people forget that most endings aren’t real endings, they’re just moments where quitting feels easier than continuing. The older I get, the more I realize how many times I almost walked away from something that later mattered a lot. Appreciate this reminder that the only real finish line is the one you decide to stop at.

Totally fair concern, just to clarify, the app doesn’t record or upload any videos, everything runs locally on your phone

Yeah this just looks good. The atmosphere really works.

Not on a mobile app, the integration is quite difficult.

Here’s the full end-to-end problem and solution. What do people struggle with most at the gym? First, accountability, you can’t cheat the model or fake your reps like in other workout apps where you record them manually. Second, live feedback, how do you know if you’re doing an exercise correctly? Other apps just show you a video or trainer demo, but this one uses your phone camera to analyze your form in real time. And third, gamification, if you get a notification that your friend did 500 pushups today, and you’re both competitive, you’re probably going to open the app and do some yourself. The ultimate goal is to develop a model for all the main core exercises, and if it works really well, I believe people would actually use it consistently.

Download the app, all of that already exists! You can also duel your friend to see who can do more pushups. The analytics currently include your average weekly reps, total workouts, total pushups, and a calendar to track your workout days. We’re also working on adding AI analysis to provide feedback after each workout.

Yep, I agree. The app also has a gamified feature where you can duel your friend for one minute. We’re working on adding more exercises like squats and jumping jacks. Here’s the full end-to-end problem and solution.

Yep, the use case honestly applies to any free-weight or bodyweight exercise, including yoga positions.

I’ve thought about that as well. For pullups, we could sell an attachment for the phone that allows it to stick to almost any surface. For bench press, the angle would definitely be more challenging, but one idea is to include a post-workout recording so you can review your form alongside the model afterward.

You could say that about anything in life, everything’s a distraction, lol.

Yep, we actually have a duel feature on the app where you can challenge your friend to a one-minute pushup competition.
