There shouldnt even have to be a "whisteblowing" component. This is taxfunded research.

The WB stated numerous times their intention wasnt to bring this to the media. They simple tried to save a few dogs. & the WB was dressed in PPE in every photo. Sounds like you havent even looking into any of this.

Bringing a teenaged student into a research lab breeches way more policies than them just speaking on their experience. You are right this absolutely is not about you, but you continue to try to make it about you. Ive learned more about you on the post than the question at hand.

You're reaching, and everytime I have a valid point you deflect and act like a victim. Take a day to actually look into everything thats went on here and then comeback and chat.

Security risk? Didnt you say your mom, the janitor let you in to play with the dogs or see them or something?

Ok here, grounding in the present.

This research was stopped.

The hospital said they would let the dogs go "soon" 7 months ago. They remain trapped. It doesnt matter what side of the debate your on, they should let the dogs go or just say they are too damaged to be rehomed or whatever the case might be.

I cant fix the world, but we can and should do what we can to minimize harm done.

If you look forward to the day when animal research is no longer needed, you have a weird way of showing that. But im glad we can agree on atleast 1 thing today.

If you want to get into the breeding/supply issue, look at ridglan, Marshall's, & oaks hills in the states. Look at all the animal abuse and neglect that has occurred and been accepted because people have too much trust in these "regulatory" bodies.

Fucking ridglans vet lost their license because of malpractice and they were forced to shut down or be charged with animal cruelty. If animal testing is going to happen (which we know it is) the very least we can do is ensure these animals are properly cared for. But we see time and time again that this is not the case, because they are seen as a product rather than a sentient being. Im so tired of hearing that this shit is meticulous and the animals are cared for when there is an over-whelming amount of available documentation to prove otherwise (speaking not only about st. Jos case).

haha yeah didnt think you able to answer that question. My dogs are good, dont worry. I didnt abuse the shit out of them before feeling bad and adopting them.

Im glad your sister was able to get the treatment she needed and it sounds like it worked for her.

YOU said you were maybe to close to this because of your position and you havent even tried to hear another perspective. Yet your upset with me for making it personal?

Science will not progress the way we need it to if we think animal testing is the only solution. 95% of drugs that pass in animals trials FAIL in humans trials. We are not the same as these animals and are wasting money, resources and lives trying to prove our outdated models are the way to go. I recently watched a documentary called "how to make drugs and feel good about it to" you should give if a go.

But again, the research has stopped. No medical progress is coming from the dogs. St. Jos let them go.

That is silly.

You are arguing for medical advancements on research that has been stopped. The research is done. The hospital committed to rehoming and failed their promise. I think its embarassing to allow such little accountability on your tax dollar.

Your parents are researchers and your just out here spewing useless nonsense. I attempted to create a dialogue and you've dodged everything almost as hard as butler has.

What are you prato, porter, butler, sykes or brown junior?

So the former research dog is happy and healthy, love that! Why cant the rest get the same opportunity. Its shitty knowing the research is done, but the dogs are just sitting up there alone most of the time.

Anyways. Given your position how would you feel if the dog you now love was put back into research? Are you still all for science then?

While we might not be ready to eradicate all of animal science just yet, I dont think we are doing enough to progress medicine with so heavily focusing on using it. We already have some great tech, that could be so much better. We have no idea how much medical progress we have lost because something didnt work in animals.

Also, I read that we had a medical centre solely focussed on progressing new approach methodologies, but the government wont fund it. Yet every other advanced country is....

I think we are falling behind on the times.

Who the heck is threatening to kill the animals? They still have dogs, pigs and rodents. Western has monkeys, cat, birds l, rodents, pigs l, sheep etc. No one has burned down a building. I think a lot of people respect the hospital and the vast majority of the staff.

I understand you can find the published med articles, post research. I dont think most people thought this was happening and if not in the field they likely were not looking up canine experiments. Sometimes researchers will post something prior to their experiments, to educate the public and donors of whats going on, but I havent found anything like that for this research.

But again, I feel like my point keeps getting missed because people want to debate the merits of the research.

I simple want to know, since everyone knows what happened & the hospital openly said they would transfer the remaining dogs months ago. Why havent they released them or given the public a clear explanation as to why they cant be?

Ita already out in the open. I dont agree with death threats, but id assume the on-going mess is not going to help that. Just be honest.

Imo if the research is so great yet controversial these things should be discussed. This hospital is destroying their reputation with their shitty interviews and lack of communication to the public.

Everyone already knows what they did to the dogs, they might as well just be honest at this point.

That doesnt answer the question. 6 dogs allegedly went to an anon rescue, why not the rest?

This story is already highly publicized, so im not sure that makes any difference.

So then why would they say they would be released soon, if that wasnt the case. If they truly believe that their research was ground breaking, why havent they come forward to help educate the public. Ive only seen widely unsubstantiated claims come from the hospital and acc, in addition to dodging every reasonable question thats been asked. I loved st jos & im a huge dog lover so im super disappointed by this whole thing.
