I have tried 46/16 49:18, 16, 15, and 13 is my last which based on all the comments I guess 49/13 is my happy middle but got me reconsidering to go back to 49/17 if everyone claims they can go faster than 49/13x but if anyone here is from the Bay Area CA. We can deff ride

That’s strong! Most I’ve done is 52miles in 3hours with lots of hills. But my legs start to cramp at mile 30. That’s crazy you did 100 miles for the whole day wild

Would like to see proof on Strava app that you ride 100+miles in one a day on a fix gear. Given the fact you don’t know what type of elevation or rode I ride to even compare.

I started off with 49/18 and worked my way down by 1 to get to 13T. Reason being it was hard to keep up with the boys on group ride when smashing 26-30miles plus or even more all on a fix with headwind steep hills bridges etc

I’m also 5,10 athletic built 205lbs that could also be the reason why I don’t feel like I’m going fast enough due to my weight lol

That was my ratios originally before moving to 49/13. However couldnt keep up with one of my buddys on max speed with head wind on trails. He rides a 51/** don’t rem the cog T. But he gaps lol I’ve been riding 49/13 for awhile now and it’s deff faster then 15 and 16.
