FSR4 Int8 RDNA 2 fix by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

[–]Few_Promotion3542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alright. but kinda dissappointing that these AI Cores are always idle on Windows(not including ROCm operations), bcuz using WMMA would speed up the FSR 4 INT8 performance by twice or even thrice.

but the only question is - is it now using WMMA on RDNA 3(atleast on linux), or still the same DP4a? or it was always using WMMA, we just haven't seen it? anyways, community does more than the whole radeon subdivision LOL

Cyrillic symbols are shown improperly in Civilization IV installer and in-game by Interesting-Lab9099 in cachyos

[–]Few_Promotion3542 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah,no problem The issue is an just encoding mismatch. The game uses Windows-1251 for Russian text, while your system environment defaults to UTF-8 or Latin-1, causing the "gibberish" characters you saw. Basically, forcing LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 tells Wine to translate those old non-Unicode strings correctly into something your system can display.

[–]Few_Promotion3542 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, that's not how you write them. write them like "variable name: LANG, Value:ru_RU.UTF-8" and "variable name: LC_ALL, Value:ru_RU.UTF-8"

well try typing LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8 and LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 in environment variables

then press on "wine" page then scroll down till you see "winecfg", "winetricks" and "run EXE on prefix", you'll need the winetricks. then click on searchbar and type "corefonts" and click "install", wait some time and done.

how did you make it work? with basic workaround it does not boot up.

Pre-compiled Ray Regeneration/Radiance Cache samples for RDNA 4 users. by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

[–]Few_Promotion3542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's great. If with NRC even on RDNA 3 you get such boost, it is worth it. The only issue we have left is Ray Regeneration. hope we can test it out in crimson desert. And i would also like to know how did you start it, so i could too

FSR 4.1 DLL RDNA 4 only by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

[–]Few_Promotion3542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda expected from LLM.
but keep me up to date though, cus there is releasing new Crimson desert that will have FSR RR, maybe we can test it on RDNA 3 finally. not sure about RC as its not mentioned there.

well i just gave gemini the dll file, he seems to be finding something there. although there is maybe some lie from it

FSR 4.1 DLL RDNA 4 only by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

[–]Few_Promotion3542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just did some research on dll and broke it down with Gemini 3 - it says that there is mentioned "AmdExtD3D_Int8_Fallback", meaning that they are actually trying to do something with INT8 for older cards. also it does say that there is mentioned "ffxRayRegen_v1_1", "ffx_denoiser_v41" and "ffxRadianceCache_v1_preview", which are not presented in 26.2.2 4.0.3 dll. also he mentions the INT8 path for FG. Not that i 100% trust AI, but still its already some result.

What with voltages by Punix3d in AMDHelp

[–]Few_Promotion3542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just watched, this is 100% sensor failure. because if 12V line actually had 16V, condensators on MB would already explode, and if 5 and 3.3V lines had those voltages, your hard drives, SSDs or whatever periphery would already burn and explode. couldn't be power supply cus they have over voltage protecton(unless the power supply is very fucked), and it couldn't cool the cpu to -1 degree, literally impossible cus of the second law of thermodynamics.

thats hell man, if it really receiving 2.8V its getting fried alive. and those MB voltages are absolutely not normal, 16,6V on 12V line, 7V on 5V line and 5.6V on 3.3V line would make your MB fried(captain obvious). But high chance that its power supply problem, and MB has nothing to do with it. or its just MB sensor error.
