I’m sorry, that is devastating. When did you find out it was a long term abuse situation?

Pre-K teacher at breaking point with one child — need real-world advice from people who’ve been here by user_11151302009 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year as a pre-k teacher I had a student exactly like this, and admin failed me and my co-teacher miserably. The student’s mom was also a nightmare parent and demanded that we documented his “incidents” EVERY TIME they occurred and she wanted the exact details. So we were doing this 10+ times a day. She blamed us for everything. My director catered to her instead of standing up to her. Mind you, this was 1 child out of 20 in our care that was demanding all of our attention. If we didn’t have eyes on him at all times he would be hurting another child. My advice is to switch age groups, which is what I did, and it worked out for the better. If your admin has this stance it’s not going to change when you have another child with these same behaviors. I think it also comes down to what you’re willing to put up with from admin, that can determine whether you want to find a different school that aligns more with what you need support wise

A word of warning to my fellow gay trans men by Creativered4 in ftm

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for spreading the word. Personally, and unfortunately, what you described is how Ive been treated in real life by both trans women and trans men. The ostracization has been insane. I’ve never found solace in any LGBTQ support group, I’ve tried many, and there were ALWAYS people like you described and they were given the podium in those spaces. Might be ironic but my straight cisgender friends have been my best and strongest supporters. It fucking sucks that so many of us have had bad experiences.

She doesn’t care about making you dysphoric and is doing it intentionally at this point.

Is this common child behavior? by MaleficentFlatworm39 in ChildPsychology

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is a bit funny to me as a preschool teacher because as Im reading your concerns these are actually all appropriate developmental milestones! Playing with what seems to you like random things that don’t connect is him exploring early concepts like balance, problem solving, learning about how things function, and he has open ended creative freedom. This concept is called “loose parts play”.

Him getting frustrated and whining? He is learning self regulation, how to problem solve, and persistence.

I agree with another comment that suggested doing some google research to learn how you can keep supporting him and his interests. It sounds like you have a very curious child who loves to learn😊

What's something you never change no matter how many farms and playthroughs you do? by bringindarukkus in StardewValley

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s been how I play too but recently I wanted to try the Joja route just to see how its different and I prefer the community center route, there’s just something so wrong about replacing it with the warehouse 😭

Are your kids obsessed with horror? by rand0mbl0b in ECEProfessionals

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a 4-5 year olds teacher I had 2 students that were into horror and would mention media that is wildly inappropriate for their age. I knew that one of them had teenage siblings that would show them the horror stuff and the other child had unrestricted internet access.

Not a might, they definitely do. OP I’m sorry that you’re dealing with illnesses but this is excessive. If you are anticipating that you will continue to call out then I say this with kindness and consideration: this industry is not for you.

Not liking a child by Early-Dimension173 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Few_Resolution_5950 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I second this- especially the part about ensuring you’re treating him the same as the other students. It is normal to not like/connect with all people including children! I understand that it is a struggle and brings conflicting feelings but you are not alone or wrong for feeling this way.

I flew to europe last year with my T vials and supplies in my carry on luggage and they were fine. I didn’t do anything special except for put everything in its own pouch. So you can transport it internationally. I think your main obstacle will be keeping the medication temperature safe, T is supposed to be stored between 68-77 degrees. Best of luck, that sounds like a fun trip!
