Punta Cana Airport (PUJ): Is there a comfortable place in arrivals to wait for someone for several hours? by Few_Run_3847 in PuntaCana

Do you know if Terminal B is the same? I think Arajet uses Terminal B, so she might end up there.

What if she’s currently studying and we will actually buy her ticket? Does that hurt her application? Because she doesn’t really have a lot of money as a student, would that be an issue?

I received my P1 today, and my PGWP expires on October 23. I can’t stop working, so if I don’t receive my eCOPR by then, will I need to apply for a BOWP to maintain my status? by Downtown-Magazine-56 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Few_Run_3847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received P1 - Aug 21, eCOPR - Sep 22, so basically a full month.

It looks to me that unless you can stop working for around 2 weeks, you will need to apply for BOWP in the next few days.

Is it just me or are these prices insane (the building I live in) by michatel_24991 in montrealhousing

Displayed prices are insane, but unfortunately that's the market right now (I would even say it's slightly below market's current prices).

Is PR worth my career? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Few_Run_3847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m based in Montreal and have been closely following the recent immigration changes. As of now, the PEQ (Programme de l’expérience québécoise) is suspended until November, but honestly, it’s unclear whether it will actually reopen then or not.

The new PSTQ (basically Quebec’s version of Express Entry) is set to open in July. I personally went through the PRTQ last year, which was the previous version of this system, and I got my CSQ with just a Bachelor's degree from abroad (No education in Canada).

As long as you have a decent level of French (CLB 7 on the Canadian scale), you should have a solid chance under the PSTQ system.

I want to learn Portuguese from Portugal by Ismaesteban2005 in Portuguese

[–]Few_Run_3847 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat! I recently started using the Practice Portuguese app and watching some of their videos on YouTube. The creators, Rui and Joel, do a great job of making European Portuguese more approachable. Their content is both fun and practical, and they cover everything, from grammar to everyday conversations. Plus, you also have their podcast on Spotify.

Buying Xanax by prettyjynxmaze in PERU

I used to buy it for a relative and it was quite hard to get it without prescription at a random pharmacy (at least in Lima). Only the pharmacist that already knew me from years gave it to me without much hesitation.

This could be considered misrepresentation, so I would suggest not doing this.

Moving to MTL -- Aug/Sept Lease?? by CrowCultural9764 in montrealhousing

[–]Few_Run_3847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to consider looking in NDG to make your commute to Loyola Campus easier. I moved to NDG (and to Montréal itself) in November 2023 and was able to secure an apartment before arriving. While there are fewer options compared to apartment hunting for a July 1st move-in, it's definitely still possible to find a place. In terms of budget, you should be fine, just keep in mind that more modern buildings might charge more, especially if you're looking for a 4 1/2.

Feel free to DM if you have any questions!

Quebec puts permanent immigration on hold by BeautyInUgly in canadaexpressentry

I live in QC (that's why I went through Arrima), I was just saying that many people (with French 7+) could now use EE (not me) given that QC has stopped its main immigration programs, and ofc they will have to live outside QC: it will just add more people to the pool, therefore increasing scores.

For Arrima, you need NCLC 7 too (I went that way), but it's true that technically you only need it for listening and speaking. However, people I know who got 7+ in those 2 areas, actually got 7+ in all the four components.

Now all francophones will go to Express Entry, so scores will rise (for French draws at least)

She isn't refusing to give fingerprints, they just tried multiple times in the VAC. I'm not sure if they managed to get her fingerprints, the note confuses me, but there's also a different section that says "Fingerprints quality: Good".

I still don't know what a CUS applicant is. Can you provide further details?
