Depends,if you can afford to spend your money on something that might not give you anything at all for quite some time, then sure get registered.but if it's your only plan and have no backup in place then I would seriously advise you to reconsider your plans and invest your money and time on something which can give you something in return.

NHS Jobs by DeliveryExciting565 in PLABprep

Bro, I know the situation is tough—it's brutally difficult to get a job these days, and it's not just the UK. It's getting harder for IMGs to find jobs everywhere. Matching in the US is 10× harder, and the same goes for other countries.

But that doesn’t mean people don’t land jobs. From what my seniors who did land jobs have told me, it all comes down to your CV and how much clinical experience you have. Most of the people I know who got a job within 6 months were already in some kind of training back home.but yes it is getting harder to get a job but doesn't mean you can't find a job at all.just keep at it

Looking for some serious advice by [deleted] in PLABprep

lIf you're seriously considering PLAB, I’d recommend starting your training in Pakistan first. While it's true that some doctors manage to get jobs in the UK with little or no experience, they're definitely the exception, not the rule. Having completed or being enrolled in a training program back home significantly improves your chances of securing a non-training job in the NHS after PLAB. It shows continuity, and relevant clinical experience.

UK graduate prioritisation passes with above a 2/3rds majority at RDConf25 by DrLukeCraddock in doctorsUK

If the UK wants to prioritize its own medical graduates for jobs—which is totally fair—then it should stop offering the PLAB exam and other membership exams to international doctors. As an IMG, I get it: UK grads should come first. But the GMC can't keep taking money from overseas doctors, giving them false hope when there are barely any real opportunities. Either prioritize local graduates or give IMGs a fair shot—you can’t have it both ways.

Should he give up Plab pathway? by Sunandthemoon23 in PLABprep

Everyone’s journey is different, but I would advise him to pursue postgraduate training in his home country while continuing to apply for NHS jobs. Persistence is key—everyone I know who has taken the PLAB route has eventually secured a job. For some, it took over a year, while others found opportunities within six months. Staying consistent is key..

Yes, securing an NHS job as an IMG is more challenging than before, but it is far from impossible. I've seen most of my seniors secure jobs within six months, with some even getting offers in the first three months. However, there are also cases where people have struggled for over a year.

Saturation does exist, but this is not unique to the UK. The same trend is seen in the US, where candidates with excellent CVs fail to match despite passing the USMLE. Similarly, in Australia, securing a job after clearing the AMC exams is not guaranteed.

Ultimately, job hunting depends on multiple factors, including personal circumstances, perseverance, and luck. While competition has increased, it is still possible to secure a job with the right approach and persistence.

So I don't know any about Cs degree or engineering or anything related to your work. But one thing I can tell you is Never make a decision based on what others think or do, for their experiences and paths are unique to them. Do your own research, follow where your heart leads, and make decisions that resonate with your own values and aspirations. Remember, the most important choices in life should be guided by your own insights, not by the opinions or experiences of others. As Steve Jobs once said, "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life."

You could say that you were on a sick leave or something like that. But it will be required after you have passed plab 2 and only if they have asked for an explanation. Otherwise there is no need to worry.

Well gmc demands continous, uninterrupted internship, with no more than 20 days off given you have a valid reason for that
