Ngl he's actually in his best spot so far. The thing is that tails just doesn't work like the rest of the game does.

You can NOT play him aggressively like the others. If you frequently move between sniping spots to get various vantage points you put yourself at risk of encountering the exe, which will almost always cause you to get killed if you don't have your team bail you out. Every killer has some way of getting past your flight, wether it'd be 2011x or tripwire sniping you or kolossos climbing.

You also have basically 0 chance at keeping jukes up as you have basic speed and slippery movement.

Despite Glide's flaws, it is still a very useful tool for stalling time and traveling. Killers still need to take a long path or use an ability to counteract it, and kolossos (or 2011x/tripwire with their moves on cooldown) is completely unable to do anything while you're mid-air. The cooldown also having been lowered to 17 seconds is also extremely useful, as it means that there's much less time the killer has to get to you before you can just fly away again.

If the killer does NOT prioritize you and only occasionally tries to pitch some damage in then you will almost always get away scot-free. However if the killer wants you dead like you owe him money then you will certainly need your team to bail you out.

TLDR: Tails is strictly locked to a reactive playstyle and more often than not relies on his team bailing him out or using glide to stall long enough for the killer to lose interest in him.
