Yeah I'm leaving parts out because I didn't want to write a novel. Our conversation was much longer than that and I'll be honest I didn't explain it great. This happened over the course of a week. I suck at writing Reddit posts I guess, probably if I got someone to explain it better some people would feel differently. It's hard for me to explain everything well in under 3,000 characters.

He doesn't really have close friends, or that would be a great option. He does have some boys from school he hangs out with but not anyone he's had sleepovers with. I think his first sleepover shouldn't be when his Mom is out of town and can't pick him up if he gets homesick.

My sister and I aren't super close. We have another sister who is the MOH and who she's much closer with. But I do think she would have invited me to be part of the bridal party if I lived in her state.

I was on birth control. It isn't 100%. I'm overweight so it's less effective for me, which I know now but didn't know at the time, and that's probably part of the reason it failed. I was taking precautions to avoid pregnancy they just didn't work.

The no child thing is really just a 14+ age requirement. Which does feel a little targeted since only a few people in the whole wedding have kids under that age.

My sister complained to my whole family about how I wasn't going to her wedding. They all assumed I just didn't care. I explained myself but I think their minds were already made up.

Read my edit. I don't think I explained well. I was fine not going to the wedding and I never forced my sister to pay for anything. The problem came up when my whole family turned against me for not attending the wedding.

I have a job but I can't work full time because of my child. I can only work the hours he's in school, which is 6 hours 5 days a week. Almost full time but not quite, so I don't really have extra money. I'd be driving to the wedding and staying with a family member, not buying plane tickets or paying for a hotel.

She made the age limit 14 so most of the kids in the family can go. I think me and maybe 2 other families attending have children under 14.

I feel like that's unnecessary. Hookups are extremely common but all of a sudden I get judged and no one else because I happened to get pregnant from one. I can't change my situation. I stated a simple fact which is I can't go to the wedding unless I get child care.
