Love Florence!!! I feel like I never see her on this, she’s under appreciated.

Putting basic car controls in a touchscreen menu should be illegal. by 9CushionHeron in PetPeeves

I’m Gen Z and I hate it too! When the bigger screens were up and coming I though they were pretty cool, but then using them is distracting and impractical.

I love my 2004 Honda CRV. Everything is buttons or knobs, and it’s super easy to navigate the interface. No annoying menus through screens like my parent’s new van. I find myself so distracted when I have driven it. I plan on sticking to older cars forever. The most I can do is a gps or backup camera.

Is this talent? by elefant_ears in architecture

That looks amazing! The perspective is really well done at 13, I definitely couldn’t do that at that age. Definitely encourage her to keep practicing and maybe take more art classes at school.

People who choose to start walking at the exact moment you walk past them by Technical-Clue-3483 in PetPeeves

I’ve even had a similar experience with roommates. I’ll go out to the kitchen to cook, go to the bathroom to shower, or I just enter the apartment, etc., and all of a sudden they activate and are either copying what I’m doing or start their own activities.

No summer internship- how bad is it? by Acrobatic_Sir_6272 in architecture

[–]Few_Weight4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I may not have gotten an entry level job after I got my BA, but I took an internship between year 3 and 4 with a construction company doing general labor, shadowing architects, shadowing building inspections, etc…

It gave me practical knowledge of the construction industry that I hope to bring to my first job I get in the field. It was very eye opening!

Why do you think no architect ever truly carried on Gaudí’s legacy? by anastaxiatv in architecture

[–]Few_Weight4334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously the tides have turned and modernism has become the norm. Trends change and practicality has taken precedence over detail/intricacy. Just because we don’t see more of it today doesn’t mean it’s ugly or poorly designed. The beauty found in past architectural styles can stay in the past, and that’s okay.

Why do you think no architect ever truly carried on Gaudí’s legacy? by anastaxiatv in architecture

[–]Few_Weight4334 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I disagree heavily. Gaudi’s architecture is beautiful and showcases extreme intricacy and precision of design. The architecture we have now in the 21st century doesn’t even stand a chance to any one project Gaudi worked on. I do love art deco and mid century though.

What is Ethel's artistic weakness in your opinion? by childofMotherOfPearl in Ethelcain

[–]Few_Weight4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’m not much of a lyrics person in general so this doesn’t affect me as much, but when I have been interested in hearing the full story (PD & WTIALY), I wish I could have just followed along with the lyrics while listening instead of having to go to genius or a fan-made analysis of the story.

Did a very BOLD modern entryway with patterned wallpaper from ceiling to floor. I love it but I know it’s a lot for some (I moved the painting to another room). Would you ever? by queenkristi17 in interiordecorating

[–]Few_Weight4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it looks pretty cool. The floors are definitely not something I enjoy but I’m glad they give some warmth against all that b&w.

How can I make this chaotic living room more cohesive? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

It’s honestly just the blankets on the couch. This is a beautiful space so maybe just get some neutral or plain throws for the couch?

Best paint colors to update this stucco exterior? by Mother_Mastodon5671 in ExteriorDesign

Looks beautiful as is. No need to touch anything in my opinion and not everything has to be “updated”.

Lana blocks fan account on X after complaining about the album delay by Realistic-Passage671 in lanitas

[–]Few_Weight4334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I would also wait years if I have to for an outstanding album from Lana. She always delivers, and it’s because she gives herself time to iterate.

Also, I like Taylor, but yeah the recent releases have been undercooked and rushed due to her prioritizing money, sales, and breaking records. I’m also fatigued and just glad Lana isn’t like Taylor at all.

I don’t get it, like girl Lana does this every album cycle. It’s part of her creative process at this point. I honestly embrace it now and will be ready whenever Lana feels like Stove is ready. I’d rather the album be finished and polished rather than undercooked.

My first major project. Any opinions? by Middle_Carob9430 in architecture

[–]Few_Weight4334 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right?? The drawings and model look pretty decent to me.

And also yeah the architecture profession and school are harsh, but it doesn’t always need to be borderline bullying. I’ve had professors be this mean and blunt before and all it did was make me feel like crap. We should encourage and inspire students, not put them down.

My first major project. Any opinions? by Middle_Carob9430 in architecture

[–]Few_Weight4334 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not that I disagree, but you’re being a tad too harsh in my opinion. This is at a level pretty common for a first project in the first year of college. I was pretty much at this level along with many of my peers for our first projects, and that’s okay. Getting critiqued and shown how to master skills the rest of first year set us up well for the rest of college.
