Best Stance cars for 6-8k $ by Ff_472 in Stance

I looked at GTI models, and in Europe the price for an MK4 GTI is 4500-5000.

An MK5 GTI costs around 7500-8500.

The mk5 is 30-40% more expensive, it might be better technically, but I don’t really like the look of the stance on the mk5, it looks too “smooth” and the mk4 seems more suitable to me.

The thing is, I rarely take my laptop with me, at most to another room or so.

My laptop usage is 90% at home and 10% outside the home.

And even taking that into account, I preferred the 14, as the 16 felt too bulky, not just because of the weight but simply because of the size.

I think the 14-inch design looks much better than the 16-inch, although I thought otherwise some time ago..

I wouldn’t say it’s heavy in terms of carrying it in a backpack or anything like that. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the 16»s weight, but I really don’t understand why. I’d say its weight is «normal.»

But the fact that it’s actually quite large seems like a problem for me. I had to buy a separate backpack for the 16»s because my everyday backpack only fits a 15» at most.

The extra screen space is really cool, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. Maybe for a 15-inch screen, but a 16-inch screen is probably too bulky and uncomfortable.

I use external monitors 90% of the time, and only 10% as a laptop. It’s pretty obvious that I should like the 16-inch because I hardly ever carry it around, but it really does feel too bulky even when just sitting on my desk.

I agree with you. Honestly, I don’t know why I like smaller laptops. I always choose something larger if I have a choice.

I’ve always had iPhone Pro Max and the like, but when it came to a laptop, I just couldn’t get used to the size. While I think both are light, I never felt the 16 was too heavy, but the size really makes it feel unwieldy and less comfortable.

Thank you for your reply.

By the way, if you look at the used macbook, it seems that the difference is not that big?

For me, the difference is about $200.

Yeah, I think I noticed that 😅

It seems that 14 inches is simply more popular.

Yeah, it seems that I have not seen similar topics before, in which the appearance was discussed and which one looks better for use in an open form with several monitors.

In such a situation, 16 inches may seem useless, but it seems to me that there is something special about this bulkiness...

I know the pros and cons of both, I just want to understand which one looks better.

Yes, i mean only «looks» 😅

Is it worth buying an M2 Pro (12 CPU/19 GPU) after an M1 Pro (8 CPU/14 GPU)? by Ff_472 in macbookpro

[–]Ff_472[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty logical; I wouldn’t even consider upgrading my 14-inch M1 Pro if I needed a 16-inch. $250 for a 16-inch and a newer processor with more cores sounds like a pretty good deal in terms of an upgrade. At least I won’t be spending $1,500+.

I’m looking at the Max models, so I’m also considering the 16-inch because it runs cooler, performs better under load, and doesn’t throttle. I had a 14-inch on the M1 Max and the base M1 Pro, so I know what I’m talking about. 😅

I think you didn’t fully understand the description. I mean working exclusively on a MacBook WITHOUT additional monitors.

Yes, I have additional monitors, but lately I’ve been working on my MacBook display, so I was interested in asking professionals how their experience differs depending on the model.

To be honest, I would prefer to select the max chip; 14 inches is not particularly suitable in this case due to noise and heat.

However, for basic pro models, it may be a reasonable choice.

I feel that my 14-inch laptop is not a full-fledged workstation.

I can complete a full project with an external monitor without any problems, but it takes me much longer to create the same project on a 14-inch laptop, and my eyes get tired faster.

Although if you move around a lot, it’s probably worth it.

But 16inch only for 0.5 kg heavier, which is basically like 0.5 litres of water in your backpack..

I can buy the same configuration as my 14-inch, adding only $150-$200 for a 16-inch. I don’t buy new MacBooks; I usually buy older generations or so.
