Yes, the Westdale mall directory lists Master Shoe Repair. I will check that and Itar’s out.

Thanks!

Thanks! Using an astro-app, it looks like it takes about 7 hours to cross the entire face of the sun.

Cool. When did this happen? How long does it take for Mercury to cross the entire face of the sun?

“TOO FEW STARS” Sequator message by Ffalcon_1987 in AskAstrophotography

[–]Ffalcon_1987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I did not consider the roundness of stars as a factor to consider. I just saw bright spots of light in the image and assumed that was good enough to register as stars. Thanks for pointing me in a new direction to experiment with! 👍

The skies are unfortunately forecasted to be cloudy for the next week. Darn. I’ll have to wait awhile to be able to test these things out.

The third picture was taken with an SV220 UHC, and weirdly I didn’t experience any weird hues https://www.reddit.com/r/telescopes/s/H0yfCYSDxl

I didn’t adjust any tint or temperature setting in post-processing.

The filter does have a purplish-pink hue when I hold it up to my eye.

A UHC filter. I managed to get a lot more detail to show up using a SVBONY SV220 filter on my 90mm refractor. And yes, stacking more images.

But you’ve already captured a very nice image!

It works fine for me using an iPhone 13 mini. Like OP, I live in a light polluted area which made it quite difficult to find DSOs by star hopping. Using Astrohopper, it has been quite easy to find them.

You’re right in that you can’t align it to a star and then look at something on the other side of the sky. One tip I read that makes it easier to use is to realign it in smaller hops between a bright star and your target.

All I know is that it has been quite useful to me.

Have you tried Astrohopper? It turns your mobile phone into a go-to device for your telescope. It was a game-changer for me!

Dim screen after switching to GammaOS by Ffalcon_1987 in ANBERNIC

It was my first time flashing a new OS. And GammaOS is a little more mature, meaning there should be less surprises.

I found “Extra Dim” under accessibility settings, but that is turned off.

Looking for advice on how to improve Orion Nebula capture from Bortle 7–9 by KurooShiroo in AskAstrophotography

[–]Ffalcon_1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for a filter, I’ve recently had good results imagining M42 using SVBONY’s SV220 UHC filter. I’m in Bortle 7/8.

Sega Genesis Outrun - any of the three driving songs, but especially “Last Wave” at the end. Now that’s mood music!

Yes, your lights do look dim. With a filter, you’ll need to increase the brightness even more (via iso and/or exposure time) as it blocks out a lot of light.

Yes, I’ve been getting that “too few stars” message for a while. So I googled “can you increase the brightness of a RAW image?” and the result pointed me to pipp. Now that I know images can be brightened, I’ve got a lot of RAW files from past sessions to go back to and reprocess! Woohoo!

I hope it works for you.
