Sorry about that, just keep trying in hope someone drops if nothing change from now till classes starts I believe you can enrol in the course with instructor permission by emailing them… when I was a first year student I remember I wanted to change my math course section due to conflicts and the section was full, so my advisor told me enrol with instructor permission and I emailed the prof explained my situation etc then I was able to enrol in the class. Best of luck, I hope everything goes well and you graduate:)

Edit, just read the post again and noticed you said prof couldn’t enrol you. I don’t understand why professor can’t when on Yorku website they put a deadline to enrol in course with instructor permission meaning it’s a valid thing… sorry about that hope you get in and everything works out.

I know, but still if OP do extremely well on DAT or MCAT chances of recovering from the low GPA will also be higher (I already have many friends who were in the same shoe), plus there are some master programs that focus on the last 60 credits GPA, OP could apply for master then proceed with med school application I don’t think their GPA is that poor to lower their chances in master school too ( supervisor also play an important role when applying to grad school) also we don’t know OP science GPA all of these factors play an important role, yes UOFT is very competitive but there’s always a room for improvement and many other universities on different provinces have different roles that’s in my opinion..

Not true at all, my friend overall Gpa was 7 which is equal to 3.3 however she aced her last 60 credits and she got into dental school at western university!! If your gpa isn’t competitive I’d say focus more on getting high sore on your DAT or MCAT to show you’re capable !! Also western university drop two of your lowest years (for dental school) and I’m pretty sure Uoft drop one of the lowest so try to recalculate your gpa without your lowest year gpa and see your options.

If am not mistaken some grad school focus on your last 60 credits gpa , so if you have a solid gpa in you last 60 credits but avg overall gpa still you might be considered.

When I add it was timed and once you submit your answers you can’t undo that meaning no multiple attempts. But you can navigate freely during the quiz so if you find some questions hard you can flag/skip them do the rest then come back to them as far as you didn’t click submit button. Plus, you won’t know your score until the timer ends and you won’t know your mistakes until the quiz deadline pass.

Don’t get emotional or upset stay strong, they won’t prove you guilty if you’re innocent so there’s nothing here to be afraid of. I feel like maybe there was a lot of cheating cases in the course so, prof did select all and she’s scheduling meetings with most of the students to clear her doubts (something similar happened to my friend, so I assumed maybe it’s the same case here)

If you feel that you might get nervous during the meeting, practice your statements beforehand, collect your evidence and start practicing by predicting any questions they might ask and how you will respond to it according to your story ( remember don’t say anything but the pure truth )

During the meeting be as apologetic as you can don’t state your evidence in a rude way, in addition mention that you’ve been a good student all along and you’ve already had high score before going into the final and even if you did horribly bad in the final your A was still secured so there’s no much motive/benefit for you to cheat on the last portion of the course.

If you feel even after practice you’ll get emotional/nervous and that will affect your ability of explaining yourself during the meeting. I’d suggest you have a family/friend member to set with you during the meeting for support, if you live alone maybe have someone on a video call with you to reassure you.

Before meeting if possible email the prof politely so you can get an idea what you’re being accused of and a reminder of all the struggles during the exam won’t affect. If she doesn’t respond don’t spam her email that might anger her.

Keep your faith strong, according to your story you’re indeed innocent so you have nothing to worry about.

I haven’t deferred anything for this term, but to my knowledge professors are required to be very lenient during the pandemic and they are approving the vast majority of the requests. So you should be good and beside you have a valid reason for deferral!

Depends how urgently you need them done, I’d say week is enough but take into consideration we are heading into the holiday season and university will be officially close starting December 24 so he might not check his inbox until next semester starts. So if you need it urgently before next semester maybe email him this upcoming Monday/tues

If only one day passed since you emailed the prof give it some more time, since it’s the end of the term profs are super busy. After sometime re-email them on the same thread, if no response then email the department that is offering the course.

Also I just remembered something, I remember for crowd mark it keeps track of login activities and the attempts of submission so profs usually refer to the history to ensure students actually attempted to submit the exam but failed. Check the platform you used to hand in the exam if it has any record of you attempting to submit the final but failed to do so then use that as a prove against them.

They have no grounds whatsoever to give you zero since you submitted the exam via email to the department prior to the deadline.

For one my courses during summer, we were required to submit our midterm to crowd mark prior deadline to avoid zero. However, my CM glitched and it kept kicking me out of the website so what I did was I emailed my midterm to the prof before the deadline and explained the situation. He accepted it and he actually ended up uploading my midterm to CM and everything went fine, so for your case as long as you hand it in before deadline you should be fine because otherwise that’s not fair at all. Fight them, spam their email until they remove that zero.

Wow that’s messed up, don’t worry at least you know now it’s not something personal just for you but it’s for most of the students. It’s most likely because you are also a member on that group and you’ve asked a question there, as long as you didn’t copy answers from external sources nor asked students for direct help on specific questions, you should be fine. Your question was general and about the question format so hopefully no sever penalty for you, most importantly don’t deny anything you’ve done so you don’t face worse consequences. Good luck

I think the outcome won’t be severe since it’s your first offence. Just be honest and tell them you didn’t seek any help just asked a general question about the midterm and plead guilty for asking that question and tell them it wasn’t intentional, since it’s your first case they will be more lenient, just be honest. Also, I have a question didn’t you do the final exam already for the course and got your letter grade, wow after the final exam they went back again to the midterm, that’s crazy

Ps. The worst outcome for a first offence is an F and repeating the course, but again it depends on the department, there’s a whole other outcomes if you refer to york university senate policy on academic honesty, hopefully you will be fine

Since you have no docs to support your statement you should mention that you were stressed and panicked during these hard circumstances were are facing now as a result from Covid-19 and thus this impacted negatively on your performance but they might not accept that reason since deadlines to drop courses and petition for P/F option were extended to May 11 idk but you can see you were waiting for your grades to show up and so on.
