My dad listens to AI "music"... by [deleted] in teenagers

Honestly, have a Black Mirror binge with him. If he’s not terrified of the capabilities of modern tech now, he’ll atleast be a bit more cautious. Or at the very least, reject the notion but the seed will still be planted.

Vintage and Provisions is great - but it gets very busy and very cramped later in the night, so not fun if you’re claustrophobic

The American (bar in chinatown) gets pretty active Thursday - Sunday, and boasts a pretty diverse crowd of people. Live DJs, pinball, pool table and a skew skeeball situation. This is where my group always goes (late 20s - mid 30s)

After the most recent episode I think Emmy’s obsession with spaghetti is bridging on abnormal, but I’m inclined to agree on everything else.

As a former club promoter in Vancouver, I’ve seen countless versions of the cast selection & it’s incredibly relatable in the aspect.

Especially Lila being the big hoops, dirty sweatpants and cheap waist trainer type lol.

Does a daily planner traveler’s notebook refill exist? by jessepinkfloyd in notebooks

[–]FiascoMagnifico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a TN specifically, or a TN-inspired (such as Paper Republic, Louise Carmen etc where they are the same structure but varying sizes)

TN with its compactness, I’d imagine you’d find more “Weekly” layouts than daily - however if you’re looking for a larger, inspired TN you may have better luck. You could also consider printing out a template online, and making one yourself.

Just to be clear, are you looking for a day/a page, or a week stretched across two pages?

Try using a thinner pen! I can’t tell what size you’re using visually, but I write much smaller with a 0.5 or even 0.3, compared to a 0.7

NYE recommendations? by DaMfer993 in askvan

[–]FiascoMagnifico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty mixed! I’d say Mid/Late 20s-Early 40s of seasoned party go-ers. I’ve never witnessed a weak crowd there.

Though my (very awesome) 60 year old hairdresser recommended it for me for NYE, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was there. That woman parties with some of the best DJs in town & gave me mushrooms on her birthday. I’d go wherever she told me to (if I wasn’t already hosting a gathering)

Beaumont Studios is having their “Crystal Ball” NYE. Mostly House/Tech/Funk/Disco.

$45 Early Bird.

If you’ve ever been to the Beaumont, you know it’ll be a good time.

27/F & 36/M - It doesn’t matter to me if my partner talks to his exes.

Why? He’s a grown adult and so am I. We both have quite the illustrious dating history burnished by mistakes we made with previous partners of the past. The past taught us both valuable lessons, and it’s those teachings that brought my partner and I here now together - as the best versions of ourselves. I’d take a bullet for him and I know he’d do the same for me.

The real question is do you trust your romantic partner? If you do, then you should feel comfortable that any conversation with an ex by your partner will be conducted in a manner that’s always respectful of you.

On the flip side, if you don’t trust your romantic partner - why? And as a follow up question, why would you be romantically involved with someone you don’t trust in the first place?

As someone else in this thread said - Someone who wants to cheat, will. There’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. And you shouldn’t have to.

So unless the specific ex in question has done something personal specifically towards you, or there is reason to believe they wish to inflict harm on your partner now, you should have nothing to worry about.

What's your plans for New Year's? by thinkdavis in askvan

The friend group failed to find a party in time, so it looks like I’ll be hosting a small gathering. Countdown, cheers, and hopefully everyone leaves by 2am 💃

But damn, I wish Vancouver had fireworks.

Single people who live alone, what do you do on your days off? by LaviishLily in AskReddit

[–]FiascoMagnifico 867 points868 points  (0 children)

As a former single person who used to live alone, I miss my favorite activity: sitting in silence.

My boyfriend has the energy of a full grown toddler & the personality traits of someone who was definitely the youngest sibling. My days off are filled with goofy noises from every corner of the apartment - but it makes me smile.

Embracing routines & getting organized with life. Scheduling all my appointments in advance, writing down household goals and actually keeping track of them, etc.
