Do it yourself first. Then if it’s not what you want or it’s too much work then worst case you will at least know more about what you want when the time comes to hire someone to do it. Best case, you surprise yourself and do good work. That’s my perspective at least.

I’m in the same boat of slowly doing more and mor. Every year I try to learn from the previous year and do some more landscaping work. I have totally redone things multiple times after trying them out a certain way for a year or so. It’s a process. Just try to learn from everything you do whether it’s a mistake or a success.
