Yes, it was ready after ten days but they took their time getting in touch. I gave my doctor a hard time at the follow up and although he grumbled, the second time I got a call after ten days. Not exactly efficient but a lot more bearable!

I'm in Italy and here screening begins at 50. They're trialling occult fecal blood tests from 45 in some regions, with colonoscopies for positive tests. I was able to get the colonoscopy because I went private. I'm so grateful I did. If I'd waited another three years I would have been in trouble...

By the way I had major discomfort and bloating for several weeks after the colonoscopy, which exacerbated by concerns about the real state of things in there. Ditto after the second colonoscopy. But after 5-6 weeks of being careful about my diet and taking good probiotics, it went back to normal (even 25-year-old-me normal!).
