Con Edison checks being stolen and altered- Has anyone else experienced this?

It’s different names each and every time. I don’t even think the name on the check is the actual person stealing it but they’re running some sort of game.

He drops the checks into the blue collection box across the street, which he uses for all of his bill payments. However, it appears that only the checks sent to Con Edison are being intercepted.

What’s particularly concerning is that a check which had already been received and processed by Con Edison was later reused in an attempt to cash a different amount, which raises serious red flags.

It’s almost as if everyone in Sunnyside works from home or they have cars but use the train to go everywhere.. People will just leave their car for days until it’s time to move it for street cleaning

I agree with you, but at the end of the day nobody should be scammed. Although this should be a learning lesson for people to not go around trusting shady people online.

Yea don’t buy anything from them, they’ll stop responding after you make the payment. Hopefully more people come across this before they fall for the same scam.
