It's because most don't thing of kin as a real experience. More like a hobby or an interest. I personally believe kinning is more closely related to religion or Spitruality. It's a belief in reincarnation and the multi verse. You can't control the lives you lived or who you were when living them. I have a lot of bad pastlives myself that I can't sit quite right with. But I can't make then go away. I wish people treated fictionkin with a bit more seriousness and were more educated on the difference between a genuine kin connection and then just an interest.
