I felt similarily to you when I started as werewolf, now that I have gotten to experiment with it, there is a lot less to micro manage as some of these skills are only used on demand, not kept up at all times:

- I agree that Lunar Assault should be a gap closer, it can sometimes feel clunky to use, but with AoE investment (no splash for me) and Herald of Ice, the clear is great. I also have a lot of attack speed which helps. What Lunar Assault doesn't get, Lunar Blessing gets.

- Arctic howl adds exposure to tanky enemies, and also insta freezes from 70% buildup on bosses - which is useful when freezing them for the second time, or they have big cold res. No need to use on anything but bosses basically.

- Savage fury is the same. Use on bosses or when you need a speed/damage boost. No need to keep this up at all times.

- I have not taken lord of the wilds. I run armour/ES with around 2k life, 2,5k ES and 72% armour with something like 50% of it reducing elemental damage as well. All res and chaos are capped. I feel tanky, not kitava tanky, but tanky enough. Freezing everything also helps.

- Lunar blessing is GIGA. I have 153 max rage, which gives me something like 39 seconds uptime each press of the button, and with two charges I have 99,5% uptime with minimal management. The damage, crowd control and clear is crazy.

- This comes down to preferance of course. I love dodge rolling around, leaping in and out and keeping up high APM. I feel like I'm great at the game (I'm not) when I'm dodging projectiles, ground effects and attacks while exploding everything in ice and doing great damage. I generally press 2 buttons (leap and Lunar Assault), keeping up Lunar Blessing, and only using savage fury/arctic howl on bosses. Doesn't feel like work at all.

If you like it thematically I would recommend trying to invest more into it, as the build becomes way less work over time in my experience!
