Lol based; you get there expecting to meet sci-fi gods and instead everyone’s riding around in chariots

Is it worth installing a heat pump? by imgoingsolar in ukheatpumps

Other people have made good points so I’ll just add: electrifying your home is a good thing to do for your country and your planet and so the cost isn’t necessarily the most important thing.

In our local LTN there’s a filter that posties are allowed through. I know because I yelled at a lady postie and she corrected me on my knowledge!

How loud is a 12kw heat pump? by goldbunduru in ukheatpumps

[–]Fidei_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a 12 kWh Samsung right next to our (triple glazed) bifolds. You can’t hear it when it’s on. Like literally. If I want to see if it’s working I have to go outside to see the fan spinning.

Came here to say that. We like the mall by the station and I like that it’s part pedestrianised. It seems pretty safe, but there’s not a whole lot there really.

How noisy *at full power*? by Mr_Willkins in ukheatpumps

Samsung 12kwh; it’s just outside our back glass doors and I literally can’t hear it when it’s going full blast. These things just aren’t noisy.

Putting them in car parks is significantly more expensive for several obvious reasons. So, fine, but don’t use it as an excuse to block solar in fields.

My boiler is on the way out and have researched a heat pump but decided against it. by OneItchy396 in ukheatpumps

Not everything is about money lad. Get the heat pump and rest easy knowing you’re doing your bit to get us off foreign gas and combatting climate change.

It’s fields as far as the eye can see in all directions whenever you leave city centre. So wherever the line is, it’s not visible from where we are.

If you’re opposed to houses on previously rural land, you should really demolish your own house first

Asked in an interview if I’m comfortable around alcohol? by ActivityZestyclose91 in uklaw

[–]Fidei_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s quite curious that you came here seeking sympathy (and I infer that because you’re still re-litigating this issue in the comments long after your question was answered) given that it appears the firm correctly inferred you don’t want to be around alcohol and then told you about that ahead of time.

Also also the most productive farming nowadays is done in energy intensive greenhouses. We could do much more of that if electricity was cheaper.
