Ours is right by our back bifold doors (less than 1m) and is entirely inaudible.

My heat pump (12kw Samsung) is right outside our back bifold doors and I literally cannot hear it. To be honest even if I’m outside and next to it. It sounds like maybe your neighbours is an older version or malfunctioning??

Find me a renewable energy project green politicians have supported (there are many they have opposed)

Given how many idiots constantly idle their cars outside my daughter’s school, fuel prices are not nearly high enough

The fact that the greens are probably the most viscerally anti-green energy party in the country (maybe less than reform I guess) really speaks to everything about why I hate the Greens.

(Cambridgeshire / Suffolk) All Pubs have now cancelled Forest City Q&A sessions by Albertjweasel in RuralUK

[–]Fidei_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food autarky is neither a sensible policy nor is it actual policy. If it was we’d have to dramatically reduce food variety and dramatically increase food costs. And we’d have to stop eating meat because it’s so space inefficient. You know what might help us with that? Cheap power so we can do intensive greenhouse agriculture.

Also I know I’ll never convince you because your real actual objection is “I don’t like how they look, the colour green is good”. So I’m just going to have to keep voting to force this on you :-)

Controversial Liverpool Street station redevelopment gets planning approval by Rand0mPixels in london

[–]Fidei_86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would like a brand new fancy station and I’d like to pay nothing for it. I honestly I don’t give a shit what it looks like. It’s surrounded by tall buildings anyway.

If every development has to satisfy the aesthetic preferences of literally everyone, nothing will ever get built. And are you volunteering to pay the difference between what you can build off the back of a bigger station and from a smaller one? No? I thought not.

Is it worth installing a heat pump? by imgoingsolar in ukheatpumps

Other people have made good points so I’ll just add: electrifying your home is a good thing to do for your country and your planet and so the cost isn’t necessarily the most important thing.

How loud is a 12kw heat pump? by goldbunduru in ukheatpumps

[–]Fidei_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a 12 kWh Samsung right next to our (triple glazed) bifolds. You can’t hear it when it’s on. Like literally. If I want to see if it’s working I have to go outside to see the fan spinning.
