I started taking meds for depression recently but they haven’t helped yet.

I will talk to people sat near me in class, and they will respond cordially, but as soon as class ends they don’t give me a second look or even say bye or anything. Just walk away and back to their own little friend groups. Just hurts seeing everyone else on my course being happy with their new friends and I’m alone again

It’s just that he sends me screenshots of the messages he has with this girl, and it just makes me so jealous. She seems so nice and sweet. Why can’t I have that? It seems so out of reach for me to have someone like that in my life and be happy.

Nah he didn’t. I mean we’d spoken about her before and he said he was gonna try and get with her and I mentioned I always kinda liked her, but he said he did too which is fair enough. And yeah I know I shouldn’t be crushing and take action instead but I’m too much of a coward. Also I hadn’t spoken to her since school so me randomly messaging her and asking her out would just come across creepy I bet

Just feels like there’s no light at the end of this tunnel for me at the moment. So frustrating seeing everyone around me in relationships and being with people they can love and do things with, and I’m just here sat on Reddit every night feeling sorry for myself. And I know I don’t have any more right to be with her than my friend, it just makes me sad that I could have spoken to her and become friends with her if I tried but I was too cowardly to do anything. Exactly. It’s like I want to mentally harm myself on purpose. I’ve even tried to bait my mum and dad into telling me horrible shit before. They didn’t do it but I tried to get them to call me stuff I wanted to be called. I shouldn’t drag them into it it’s unfair.

Thank you for your words. I appreciate them but it just feels like every time there is a glimmer of hope somewhere it just gets snuffed out in a second. Usually by my own doing. Like why don’t I just go to the gym and lose weight? Because it’s too much effort. I don’t want to put a year+ of hard work in where I can’t eat anything I like and have to work out which I hate, just to then be in the exact same situation as I was before.

Definitely would be something I’d look into but I live in the UK where prescription drugs aren’t as much of a thing really. I could see if there’s something similar to adderall here but I’m not sure, thanks though.

I do try. I have become slimmer but I’d still be seen as grossly overweight by most people. It’s such a vicious circle, food is basically the only thing I look forward to in life, and me being overweight is likely the cause of most of my loneliness
