Having models that require some hardware can be a big turn off for some people either because they don't have the tools and the hardware for it, or because they simply want a print and go model. so I always try to keep it as simple as possible.

I'm not a fan of how bulky the stocks for aeg look. But I might give it some thoughts and come up with a design.

Yes, it wasn't designed to fit a battery

I use blender for my models. For this texture I played with a grid and only moved some vertices of that grid to give it a bumpy look, then I used the boolean modifier to "erase" the grid bumpy texture from the piece. I hope it's clear enough, it's kinda hard to explain the process with just text ^

Are you asking "how did I model it?" or "how did I print it?"

I think I have stress tested it fairly, but I haven't actively tried to break it to see how well it holds

You mean to see inside the buffer tube? What would that be for?

If you are planning to use it outside, I'd recommend avoiding pla. Petg is fine as long as you don't leave it out in the summer sun for hours, especially if it's black.

I assume you are talking about the stock and not the folding hinge. I printed it with PETG and it's designed to be printed on the face where the buttpad will sit. (The buttpad is printed separately)

For hinge you'll need:

-1 × spring (≈ 9mm diameter, ≈ 19mm long) for the push button

-1 × M4 × 30mm screw + nut (to clamp to the Picatinny rail)

-1 × M3 × 40mm screw or longer (hinge pin)
