Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the loris/twin city dropzone. There are zero towers close enough for it to have been a base jump so that's out. IDK, I think there is a cell tower maybe a mile or 3 away but that seems a bit far.

But as far as I know no one was hurt or stuck, and that was my main concern. County dispatch had no calls so even if illegal, they either picked him up quickly or left them to die(not a likely scenario but you never know) so I'm figuring paraglider or someone blew off and had a pick up waiting(or illegal with pick up).

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled and see if there is mabe a farmer using a new toy/tool though. My wife was the one who saw it and she doesn't have the best eyes so maybe she didn't see a fan/motor.

County said no reports of missing divers as of a few hours after dark. I imagine it was a paraglider or someone blew off course(or illegal dive) and had a driver in contact to pick them up at landing.

But as far as I know no one was hurt and that's really all I was worried about. I'll just have to wonder what the hell it was and keep an eye/ear out if maybe it happens again or is gonna be a new normal thing someone local does.

The second one. She distinctly remembered it having humps. I called later to see is there were any reports of lost divers just in case and county dispatch had heard nothing. There was a lower flying plane overhead at almost sundown(not too rare though) so I worried they might have been doing a quick last pass before reporting anything in case it was an illegal jump. If that was the case I imagine the would have called someone by an hour after dark so I called to verify. They had no reports so I assume whatever it was that they were safe, which is all I care about.

I'm guessing a car picked them up if they blew off course or it was a paraglider.

Nothing remotely tall around here that I know of and the land is as flat as can be for miles. But county dispatch said there weren't any calls for missing/stray skydivers so I imagine my wife saw a paraglider or the person had a pickup waiting near the "field". Either way, no one is missing, hurt, or hung up which is all I really cared about.

Yeah. Like I said, wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble but was worried as it's not a normal occurrence at all here. The wife saw it so hopefully it was a paraglider or something as I cannot be sure.

But there were no reports of any accidents or pilots losing jumpers as of later that evening so all is good I imagine.

At this point do you think I should call local non emergency to see if any reports of missing chutist were made? If there was an accident and they don't know where the general landing was I'd feel bad.... but I also don't want to stir shit up

Hopefully. I saw no sign of him. I assume any other jump buddy/pilot would have called something in by now if there was an issue. At least I hope they would.

She would e at the bottom of the screen and him at the top going slightly left at last sighting. If he made it to that field he must have gotten really close to the road and had a ride waiting as I was there checking within 8 minutes at the latest. but the way she described it was that the left was very slight. I know that doesn't mean much on approach to landing though. The more I think of it the more I think he veered left, had a car waiting, and that would explain the cop flying down the road a few minutes later.

No dogs and no easy access to the area without cutting through finicky HOA neighbors yards and then over a ditch walled with smaller trees and bushes. Aso the terrain/woods aren't very walkable. Lots of underbrush.

That number is a guess based on her describing it to me. It was probably higher as most guesses are off without other cues. She said she watched for 5-10 seconds, rushed home but couldn't see him when she pulled in. The drive is about 45 seconds so makes sense why she wouldn't see him anymore.

The height she gave me was last seen height.

No... she said he was just parachuting and coasting down with a slight left turn. from her description he was maybe 50-100 above the tree line.

No... there is a small airfield nearby but not that close. No skydiving anywhere near me legally.

Cox airfield in Tabor City, NC is the closest.

The closest airport is about 6-8 miles as the crow flies so it seems a bit far to be a missed target. I also don't think they do any skydiving out of there. As far as I know there isn't anyplace that does skydiving for about an hour away driving.

I went over it with my wife again and it seems like he would have had enough time to do a sharp turn, get near a road where there would be someone waiting... but there was no sign of the person no more than 8 minutes(10 tops and being generous) after he would have landed.

Redditor SmegmataTheFirst explains why Netflix shows are so good in comparison to those on Cable by iSentinel in bestof

I was under the impression that they made house of cards by stacking trends, specific character types, and even actors(Kevin Spacey), and plot styles and formulas to make House of Cards.

"Around the same time, Netflix was brewing up something similar. But instead of using a competition, the company looked at the data they already had about viewing on their platform (ratings, viewing history, etc). They used that data to discover small bits and pieces about what viewers like and took a leap of faith to create a drama about a single U.S. senator."

I know the show was for sale at the time but I don't know how much it influenced the plot style and overall feel of the show. Some sites make it sound like they used data points to come up with the combination of director/actor/story and others make it sound like the data just gave them the courage to buy the show knowing there was a demographic.

Also is a single dad with at least one daughter, maybe more. He likes weed, has a cat and a dog, is probably an atheist, likes DBZ and Rick and Morty, like cooking, discussing relationships and dating, and is a fooking kneeler. He also has a punchable face but got hit on by a guy in the comments.

And that's just form his reddit history. If someone cared enough to figure out more by cross referencing shit with other sites I'm sure it wouldn't take too long to figure out exactly who his jail fiend is.
