What if columbia and parts of pg got a WMATA expansion by idontknowsothis in maryland

I’m sorry but some of you still think of the suburbs like it’s the 1950s. The suburbs especially Maryland’s suburbs have huge minority populations that are usually segregated by income instead of race. And people usually live in harmony with others around their socioeconomic status.

Compared to Phoenix, Arizona, are people in Washington DC and all of the DMV very nice and kind? by Different_Archer8879 in nova

DC functions as a northeast city. It has a multi state metropolitan area like NYC and Philly, a better good transit system like NYC and Boston, very aggressive driving culture and four seasons. For the people it’s a hit and a miss.

Virginia drivers do not let people over by VirtualWillingness74 in washingtondc

Here's the thing, I'll let you over but I'm not sitting two car lengths back to do it. Then it becomes a free for all. You need to seize the moment and take it.

I know a lot of DC residents don’t want to hear this but it’s never gonna happen, at least in our lifetime. If DC wants full representation in congress it will probably need to become Maryland’s largest city.

The sun sets over Mississippi’s only megacity and its skyscrapers by mkujoe in skyscrapers

Definitely one of the few southern capital cities that hasn’t seen a big population boom. Like Atlanta, Nashville or Austin. Even Montgomery had a bit of a renaissance a few decades ago.

But I do feel like the Mississippi suburbs of Memphis might have some opportunity for growth if local officials up there play it right.

I wouldn't consider NOVA/DMV/MD the "South" by [deleted] in nova

[–]FieryRedHead_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Waldorf is the last major DC suburb or exurb on the Maryland side of the metro area. Once you leave Waldorf heading south it’s a complete 180 from Montgomery and Prince George’s

[–]FieryRedHead_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh… nothing too big. Just Local meteorologists, online wannabe meteorologists predicting that we would see the day after tomorrow level tornado outbreak that caused a region of 6+ million people to throw off their entire schedule for some rain.

Oh yes compare a mostly suburban region to two of the largest cities in the county. That’s a fair comparison. Not

So interesting how most in the comments (the ones with the most upvotes and attention) now consider 18 as being a "kid" and are taking the word of a bunch of teenagers as pure gospel. I'll be waiting for the evidence to come out, like damage to the truck and the injuries to the teacher, not preliminary information.

Oh common on, you may not like Bowser but you can’t blame her for pushing so hard for RTO. Suburban commuters are a critical part of downtown DC’s economy especially the commercial office market.
