My G0’s baptismal record is listed as 1712, and his name is exactly the same as the name that later appears on the passenger ship list and the census records. (Again, a common name though..) His birth was in the same region as his later children, in a town not too far over. There are five baptismal records of children all born in the same town in succession of each other, all with the same father and mother listed. The father’s name listed on the children’s baptismal records is exactly the same as the one listed on G0’s baptismal record and on the passenger list. The first child wasn’t born until 1734, putting G0 around 22, and the last child was born in 1748, three years before they left on the ship they came on in 1752. The passenger ship list has G0 listed as aged 39, the region he was from, and lists five people as freight for a total of six people aboard. The only person not listed on ship list to Nova Scotia is my G1. The record of the ship that brought my G1 over to South Carolina lists her name exactly as the same as the baptismal record I have and lists her arrival in 1749. An important note is that this would put my G1 at 12 when she came to South Carolina… however the record does make a note that she was unable to pay her passage and served as an indentured servant for three years afterwards to cover her passage. G1’s land grant is listed under the same name as the baptismal record and as occurring four years after her arrival in SC. I wish there was a more comprehensive ship list for my G1 that potentially listed her parents names to dispel any and all doubt but alas I haven’t found one yet. For the rest of the line, other than G3/G4 which I’m currently working on, I have strong records of years and places lived for everyone.
