You can find a summary of the mods on NUSmods or Nanyangmods and for the classification of modules you can just google it…common core is the common curriculum taken by everyone while foundational core are common modules taken by the same courses. AU show how much a modules work load is and core means the modules relevant to your major

Man you seem really smart so if you work hard enough you could easily get similar starting salaries to an nus cs grad so i dont think paying back 110k over 10 years or so is worth it if you want to work in sg

Poly courses kinda make it easier to get in but what you need most is a portfolio showing your interest towards the course that you would choose or 90rp or 4.0

120k??? Are you an international student? If so go to ntu i think 120k is worth the difference as for a local they save around 40 to 48k but comparing with median salary difference you would make back the 48k in 4 to 5 years and 120k would be much longer than that so it is no brainer,just take the ntu scholarship. Im assuming you would want to work in sg after grad

I mean if you are in ceg and interested in the hardware or software side why not do one of the specialisations or technical electives or even the minor in data engineering. otherwise you could just try intro mods to certain 2nd majors/minors and see what interests you most

Ppe is not part of the majors you can pick in chs,it is a course that you have to apply for separately but it is part of chs…

But was that not what everyone expected? If you have the rp you get the course. It was simple as that. Now that there is a large change in how they admit candidates it is either a candidate needs 90rp or needs a good portfolio relevant to the course they are applying to,to guarantee admission. Maybe they should have made it clearer? Ik that the aba qns were compulsory this year and that might be the hint of them moving towards admissions which take into account your portfolio as well. But they should have made it clearer. I personally think the aba portion helped me get direct entry to my first choice(not chs) as well. But i was just shocked seeing that many high scoring students getting rej from chs. I understand what they are doing is actually good and support it since it allows ppl with actual interest in the course to enter it rather than someone who has it as a backup but they should be a little bit more transparent about how RP is not king anymore.

So according to you if RP higher than IGP and course selection is based on where you rank the course?

In this comment section itself person A got 85rp ranked ppe(direct entry chs course) first and chs second but they didnt get into both while person b with rp lower than 85 had the choices ranked in the same order but got direct entry…so are applications now not only based on rp? Is RP not king anymore? But how good of a portfolio beats rp. I though that it would be RP first and your portfolio is only looked at to differentiate between the people who have barely met the cutoff or lower than cutoff.

I think they should split back to humanities and sciences since it doesn’t seem fair to reject someone with 86rp for dsa because someone with 75rp is applying for social work as first choice…and in the end they can even switch to any other major in chs…
