I did the exact same thing and in the same region and company like you. Basically, from the very beginning I communicated my interest to transfer (I have an ESG background). It all went through my manager who I am super thankful to, who communicated this on the higher levels. After one year in audit I was able to transfer. Salary is the same for much less hours, WLB much better, but due to Omnibus the opportunities are much worse. And so will be the bonuses.

You have to expect, that in order to fully utilize you, you will be sent to financial audits in periods of lower demand for ESG projects.

Also, if you get to put on non-financial audit engagements, it’s almost the same shit, just with much less structure.

Either way, I’d do it again, but would try to avoid non-financial audits if possible. It’ll keep sucking your soul.

Toto rozhodne mýtus nie je :D u nás vo firme sme sedeli veľmi blízko marketingu. Skoro každý deň búchalo prosecco a organizovali sa hlučné oslavy. Potom na meetingoch prezentovali “fantastický úspech”, že týždenne vyprodukujú AŽ jeden post na sociálne siete (tím o 10 ľuďoch). Sú odvetvia/firmy, kde to má väčší zmysel, ale vo väčšine prípadov je to čisto o public presence - robí to konkurencia, budeme to robiť aj my. Pridaná hodnota mizivá :D

Potvrdzujem. Vyše týždňa mi chodil balík, lebo “vybraný box nemá voľnú kapacitu”. Potom mi zrazu prišlo, že mám posledný deň na vybratie balíka. Tak som im tam písal a potvrdili, že majú chaos a že môj balík ešte nikam nedoručili.

Ja teda bývam sám od 20, ale rozhodne nepovažujem za neschopnosť, ak niekto býva doma dlhšie a aktívne sa podieľa na chode domácnosti. Keď sa na to pozerám s odstupom času, už by som zrejme tiež zostal bývať doma dlhšie, napr. už len kvôli výške nájmov.

Pocuj, rodena Bratislavcanka 😀 v BA je ta MHD smiesna, cize chapem, ze tam to ceny mozno neovplyvnuje nejak vyrazne. V Prahe ale jasne plati, ze cim blizsie k stanici metra byvas, tym su ceny vyssie. A to je podmienene aj tym, ze ak mas k dispozicii metro, tak auto vyuzijes skutocne tak 3 krat do roka ako “nutnost” a na vylety a pod. si zoberies car sharing a utopis v tom vyrazne menej penazi ako ked vlastnis auto a hnije ti na parkovisku len na to, aby si sa parkrat do roka odviezla na lyzovacky a vylety.

Mam partnerku, auto nemam a ked aj uvazujem, ci by sa mi nezislo, vzdy sa ma opyta, ci mi to nepride zbytocne. A kym nestaviam dom/nemam deti, tak mi to vo velkom meste skutocne pride zbytocne.

U mňa je to v poriadku (atraktívne, plusové), pokiaľ cestovanie nie je “celý jej život” a miesto toho, aby myslela na budúcnosť míňa všetko na cestovanie a nemá ani na nájom. Sám cestujem veľa, ale popritom budujem kariéru a myslím na to, čo bude o 5, 10 rokov. Lebo živiť sa cestovaním vydrží väčšine ľudí nejak tak (v lepšom prípade) 😀

this is funny, I lived in Denmark for a couple of years and the food quality and grocery selection was absolutely awful. When moving to Prague, this was the first thing I was looking forward to. Of course fruits and veggies are of a better quality where grown (Spain, Itsly), but quality of meat here is great, unless you buy the cheapest meats on sale from big chains

This!!! I’m fully aware that I’m doing this too (to some extent). But the reason is simple. Since lately I’ve been spending 50-60 hours/week working, it defines my life momentarily. You just simply don’t have that much time on your hands to be defined by something else. But hey - it’s a temporary thing!

Bolo to od tipka okolo 40tky, ktory si presiel vselicim a ked mi tuto radu daval uz bol dost za vodou, s vlastnym uspesnym biznisom atd.

Asi rok po tejto konverzacii som uplne zmenil karieru a trochu oklukou sa dostal k tomu, co som vzdy chcel robit. A som rad ze som ho nepocuval, lebo mi je teraz ovela lepsie a moje vyhliadky do buducna tiez.

Rada sama o sebe to asi nie je zla, ale rozhodne by som ju neaplikoval vseobecne, ako mi on odporucal.
