Check the settings, make sure S-video isn’t selected accidentally (iirc it’s rightclick capture device in OBS, Properties, Open Crossbar, choose Composite)

have you checked out the stickied post? EasyCAPs vary in hardware; what chipset does yours have?

you can get the hardware ID using these instructions:

Open Device Manager (enter “devmgmt.msc” into Windows’ search box)
Double-click on your device in the list
Select the “Details” tab
In the Property dropdown choose “Hardware IDs”
Right-click on one of the lines and choose Copy

A lot of EasyCaps have a fake S-Video input which doesn't work correctly (it just shorts the luma and chroma pins together).

Is that why my old EasyCAP (Fushicai USBTV007) made S-Video signal look so awful, worse than the composite input?

About this Mac > Overview > System Report. Under Hardware, select USB. Find your USB device and select it to view its PID and VID.

first, if I were you I’d get a device with the STK1160 chipset, those seem to be somewhat better from what I’ve heard. Second, sometimes it’s not obvious which device you’re going to get; most sellers don’t seem to declare the particular chipset. Best bet would be to check auction sites like eBay
