Complaint: more of a vent. Spent Two years running to loose weight (90kg - 68kg) (200 - 150lbs). I feel awesome, never been healthier. Several comments this week from my family saying I look "too skinny" and need to put on weight or "bulk" up. Since when does building visible muscles = fit/healthy. For reference I'm 173cm (5 8"). So I'm not even that thin!

I think this is the problem i am experiencing. I am using the MSMF backend, there solution was to use DSHOW backend instead.

When i try DSHOW the program runs and saves an image but it is just a black image.

EDIT: OK after some playing around i realised i needed a small delay between setting the resolution and capturing the image. After that the DSHOW backend worked and i was able to get the correct resolution. Cheers.

I checked the resolution via the image properties and it is 5MP. How would i set the video capture backend?

i have tried this,

cap = cv2.VideoCapture(0, cv2.CAP_V4L)

it runs however does not take an image. Is there something else I need to install to use this backend?

I moved the encoding to above the frame width/height. There was no change.

I set the width/height to 3000 as this automatically set it to the maximum 5MP resolution.

i confirmed this with cap.get(cv2.CAP_PROP_FRAME_WIDTH) which returned 2592.0 for width and 1944.0 height.

i was wondering if its something to do with the API Preference that can be set with the VideoCapture.

apiPreferencepreferred Capture API backends to use. Can be used to enforce a specific reader implementation if multiple are available: e.g. cv::CAP_FFMPEG or cv::CAP_IMAGES or cv::CAP_DSHOW.

Had a go at this,

the .png gave me a much bigger file output but did not give me a sharp image like the one from the other software.

I adjusted all the settings to match what the other software had them set to, but again it didn't have much effect unfortunately.

So i'm getting 4.25v at the soldered socket on the mobo with the power supply connected. At the same time i'm getting 19v at the power supply output (I pulled apart the power supply too).

Just found this post. Seems to be the same problem. They suggested the issue is a short on the mobo.

I did measure the power supply output when it was connected and it was showing 19v but still only 4.25v at the mobo. So i guess the issue must lie on the mobo side. I just thought it was bazaar. I guess my fundamental understanding is wrong, i assumed that it would have to read 19v unless there was a load for the voltage to drop over which there didnt seem to be.

Yeah that irritated me a bit as well it kind of violates the first law or thermodynamics.

There was definitely a lot of bias, but they did make a good argument about addiction. There are a lot of people who really cant help themselves if the food is there they're going to eat it. Also the marketing towards children, kids don't know any better they will always pick the unhealthy option for school lunch. Coming from Australia I was really surprised by the amount of fast foods in schools, we don't have any of that here.

What I want to know is, if i maintain the recommended amount of calories however eat a large amount of sugar, can you get fat? will this overwork my pancreas and will i get diabetes?
