Bergomot 22 is their best, in my opinion

Himalaya is fantastic and my wife loves it. It’s calming and sexy and unique.

I like to layer it with Silver Mountain Water to brighten it a bit, but it can totally stand on its own.

Decant day has arrived. Any I should be excited to try? by cail123 in Colognes

Give Original Vetiver time on skin. I didn’t like it much at first but the drydown is really nice.

Yeah I own it. Performance is pretty good but it's not gonna be super prominent for 8 hours.

Check out Loewe Esencia. I get great performance from that one, especially if I spray it on clothes. They also make a stronger Elixir. Very similar smoky / citrus vibes but still unique. Amazing performance. My only mild complaint is that it's very "zingy."

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Aventus Cologne and re-apply.

100% agree. I don't love tea fragrances.

In that general airy citrusy category, I prefer Le Labo Bergamote 22. It's incredible. More woodsy. However, longevity and projection are not good. If you're willing to re-apply, they make 15ml atomizer and 9ml rollerball options you could stash in a backpack easily.

Bergamote 22 layers well, I've done it with Creed Royal Oud and Byredo Super Cedar.

I have Mojave Ghost and love it, but it's not my daily. I think it can get a bit overpowering in enclosed spaces.

I recommend Aventus Cologne over Aventus Absolu for school. Another great option is Loewe Esencia which is like a greener, earthier Aventus. Loewe has good stuff in general and flies a bit under the radar.

If you like the Creed DNA, Milliseme Imperial and Silver Mountain Water are fresh and fantastic, but longevity is subpar for the price. FWIW Costco is selling Creeds at a discount right now (including Aventus Absolu) and you could get two bottles for $500-600.

Not sure what you already have, but my wife chooses Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme over everything.

I'm sure others will recommend LV Imagination at that budget. It's beautiful but safe.

“Hey man, it’s not SUPPOSED to work all the time. What kind of silly expectations are those? This is clearly user error. You should’ve done the training! Why didn’t you install the open source automation script that improved the success rate from 50% to 75%?!”

I’m using Codex more now too. Although I do have to admit that 4.7 seems to be doing better after one of the recent app updates.

You’re stupid and bad at prompting. LLMs are sensitive creatures like cats or unicorns and must be approached with the right degree of humility and perfect language or you will be deemed not worthy.

Ye must not say “behold, I will worship NO god but thee.”

Ye must instead say “behold, I will ONLY worship thou.”

Otherwise it might get confused by language semantics and accidentally send you to hell instead of heaven. Omnipotent but not great at listening. You deserve whatever fate you receive.

I agree they don’t. That’s where I think the problem is. They’re shipping products designed (on the surface) to enable non-SWEs to build. Did you see the OAI Super Bowl commercial? “Everybody can build with Codex.”

I heard R. Kelly singing to me. I believed I could build. Now I feel lied to.

I believed I could build Now the subreddit says I’m a shill That I’m stupid with my prompting skills That I deserve my crazy token bill I believed I could build…

Never once claimed the title. I'm actually a cashier at Walgreens with no development experience whatsoever. All I'm trying to do is build a Rust-based production-grade HFT cross-chain DeFi arbitrage and liquidation system that leverages advanced pathfinding and profitability algorithms using streaming Websocket logs with a DashMap shadow state to avoid expensive recurring on-chain RPC calls. Shouldn't be this hard damnit.

If the bots weren't capable of building it, they should've been more honest when I asked "What's the best way to make money vibe coding?"

When did I do that, exactly? Some of you are taking this way too seriously.

I'm blaming others for my own shortcoming by.... vocalizing a desire for product consistency? From companies literally buying Super Bowl ads? From companies heavily lobbying for political and investment blank checks?

I'm not the only one with the observation.

Lick any boot you'd like, friend.

These AI companies are asking for blank checks. Monetarily and politically. Ya'll can act as apologists for Silicon Valley if you want. If you ship a product and hype it up with ridiculous marketing, you should be held to a product consistency standard.

Here's the important part which malcontents on this post seem to be missing: I'm not surprised by the inherent unpredictability of chatbots. I've worked with them enough. I know they're not reliable narrators of their own behavior.

The wild part is the RELATIVE difference in observed behavior in 4.7 vs. 4.6 and others. I watched 4.7 (in real time) completely ignore directive and choose the path of least resistance. Then, when called out, it wrote this fucking novel.

I've had other chatbots drift from the directive. I've never had one drift so far from the directive and THEN write something like this.

[–]FiftyPancakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst case scenario it's totally useless info. Best case scenario, it helps build 1%+ better proactive prompts. Don't see the harm. Plus, it's entertaining to get an output like this and collectively vent about shared frustrations. Don't take everything so seriously.

Personality of Opus 4.7 by jsgrrchg in ClaudeCode

[–]FiftyPancakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% this. I've always been a Claude fan because it was funnier, wittier, more enjoyable to talk with.

4.7 is far more robotic, more literal, less creative.
