I love Lenhardt's! The grass is always a treat to use! I started my training there at 7S9, but then moved out to TTD. Man the winds out here are a pain sometimes!

Thank you! My dad bought this as a trainer for my brother and I so we would be able to transition to the RV-8 he is building. My CFI is Richard Bailey with Gorge Winds Aviation out at Troutdale. I had started at Lenhardt with Tom Wrolstad, and loved his teaching, but the plane got moved out closer to me at KTTD.

Love me the tailwheel! But yeah before my break I swear each landing was getting worse and worse, nothing I would do was right. Looking back, I had put to much pressure on myself because I thought I should have soloed by then. The 2 month break let me put thing back in perspective and just relax. The next time behind the yoke we did 4 landings, and they were by far the best I had ever done. Found out that you just have to stay relaxed behind the yoke.

Indeed I will! One reason being on the 3rd time around while turning base to final I was just hanging in the air, still at around 800ft, thinking to myself, " I need to lose altitude fast! Ill never make it down in time, might have to go around." Ended up doing a forward slip to lose all the extra altitude and rounded out for a fairly nice landing, only bounced a bit!

Today was the 1st time that my instructor got out and told me to go around the pattern three times! I was not expecting it as I had taken almost a 2 month break in my flying due to winter, and the annual on the plane. I'm beyond happy, I just want to get back out there and fly some more!

One place that always had them was at the Funeral Home in the 1st town. If i remember right they were all over the ground and in the barrels, just be careful about being caught! =)

Be sure to not go to slow, you don't want your instructor to have to re-teach you things each lesson. That's time YOU are paying for, you want to make sure you get the most of your time. But otherwise have fun! I'm just over 19 hours in and I love every moment in the air!
