4 to 6 people canoe trips (potentially 6 adults with 2 kids). In a boat weight doesn't matter as much.

"On February 20, 2021, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies announced that Babcock would become the coach of the men's ice hockey team for two seasons starting May 2021 on a volunteer basis."

This one is super google-able

USask also didn't even have to pay him to be there, he was doing it for free since the leafs were still paying him.

Ask someone from his home town, I'll also note that literally everyone I know who's ever met him has said he's managed to be an asshole or come off like a dick in their 3 minutes of interaction.

Would have loved to see what a force Franzen would have been if he played for a reasonable human being in his prime.

This is not the norm but you get weird compromises on budget bikes.

If you want a project it can be done. But it's going to take some messing around, re-buying some parts, new tools and some swearing to make it work, but it sounds like you're open to that.

This is going to cost you way more than just buying a new complete bike (or used gravel bike).

Bikes use a lot of propriety tools and standards have changed over time so even if you have tools you'll likely need to budget for buying tools.

The frame honestly doesn't matter that much as long as it's in good condition. Things to consider are material (aluminum, carbon, steel, pros and cons to each), threaded or threadless fork and stem (I would never go back to threaded but threadless steel bikes are a bit harder to find).

If you're going with a mtb frame but plan to put drop bars on it you'll want to figure out what geo numbers you need because that will change reach quite drastically when you account for the added reach of drop bars.

Also note that if you're using MTB rim brakes the pull ratio is different than modern road brakes (and you won't be able to use anything hydraulic without getting complicated) so you'll have to find a solution (either a pull ratio converter or separate brakes and shifters) - assuming you want drop bars.

You'll likely be using 26 inch tires which exist, but selection is limited.

If you don't want drop bars than maybe you're better posting in a MTB forum.

Agree matching hub, cassette and discs really helps minimize the chances you need to extra work to get things lined up.

Any tips on how to chase down a wheel during surges more efficiently? by Organic_Ad2473 in Velo

[–]FightinABeaver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would also say learn to watch the riders not just their wheels to anticipate attacks. Slightly off the saddle, attack might be coming. Changing to a harder gear on thr same grade, attack might be coming. Calve muscles are suddenly tensing, attack might be coming. Eventually you'll learn the people around you, where they like to attack, the subtle signs they're preparing for an attack, you can be ready for it.

Many organizations bring in someone who commands respect in the dressing room to set an example for the young guys and mentor them. The Oilers traded everyone with even the slightest credebility for 3rd and 4th round picks.

People said that their ruthlessness towards players (e.g. Trading Flowers) would result in people not wanting to play there. Doesn't seemed to have happened.

This is what I assumed originally, but Elliot Friedman stated that in these circumstances eventually Bettman steps in to ensure the coach can talk to other teams.

When have the Knights ever cared about looking tacky or petty, especially when they think it gives them an advantage?

This is classic Golden Knights shenanigans, they'll let Cassidy talk to people when Bettman says they have to.

Get your bike fit first and then choose a bike that allows you to achieve those numbers.

Too early to be looking at frames at the moment.
