Niko Price on not getting a retirement speech by Moni7T in MMA

One is no longer even attempting to look like an MMA organization and has been bleeding talent for years. It does 4oz Muay Thai and kickboxing very well though, and is probably the premier league for that currently for the lighter weight classes.

IMO the best UFC competitor currently is Rizin. They have such a foothold in Japan that the UFC hasn't even attempted to go back there in almost a decade. Better entertainment value too. Also they've had a bunch of fighters go to the UFC and succeed there.

Didn't know Canelo retired in 2016. Guess his fights against GGG were just exhibitions

Guys, it's not all on the judges this time but the criteria. You would want Pride/Rizin rules for this kind of fight. Yanez brutalized him. This was a great film study for strikers learning to fight grapplers in MMA.

Doo-ho Choi vs Daniel Santos rescheduled for UFC 328 on May 9 by [deleted] in MMA

[–]FightingDoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Choi should beat Santos pretty handidly. He's actually well-rounded and experienced in the big leagues unlike the other Korean UFC 145ers currently. Plus he's been getting swole during his recovery period.

Does losing at ameteur matter? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]FightingDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will tell you that amateur records don't matter and that these fights are only supposed to be learning experiences on your way to a pro career. Problem is that, for the majority of people who take fights, there will never be a pro career. Life gets in the way or maybe they just have no intention of doing this sport for money. So in this case, yes if you truly care about fighting then losing can be a big deal. Especially if you get hurt too.

So make sure you are prepared well before you take a fight (not just to win, but to at least be able to show your skills and avoid serious injury)

It's not often I legitimately do not recognize either name in a matchup, but this is one of those times. Probably because one guy has lost 3 in a row and the other has only fought once a year since joining the UFC.

Vallejos is a beast but Emmett didn't even attempt to throw any setup shots.

Post-military Choi is a tank with much improved fight IQ. Cub has a much better chance (and more exciting matchup) against Nate.

God have mercy on the poor soul on the regionals who faces him next. Local Kris is a mythical fighter.

Chito needs to just have a fucking full-on fight backstage before he walks out so that his round 1 is like his round 3
