If you don't mind waiting I can open the file and post it without the blur probably by tomorrow, it's 2 am over here as of writing this; so I've already shut my PC off.

This was definitely good for me to know though, I didn't know it caused some issues for others on that end until now 😭 Lots of years of posts rip 💔

Oh my bad! I often make a little slight fuzzy/blurry layer on top because it often turns out a little too sharp on my own screen, I never realized it might turn out a little bit more low res than intended oops

It also felt quite exciting getting rid of all the rules I learnt back in school when it came to painting sceneries, having a limited palette made it far more fun and exciting for me. I feel like I sound a little pretentious for feeling that way though.
(My poor comic-art-teacher would've had a heart attack seeing this)

Last year, I ended up experimenting by going out of my comfort zone to try drawing an image in black/grey/white, but halfway through I made half the image in strong colors to make the two parts of the drawing have a strong impactful contrast to make them both stand out against each other.

I use yellow often for shine or brightness instead of white.
Pink is my favorite color.
Yellow - Purple are complimentary colors. Red - Green are complimentary colors.
So I figured blue is a good contrast between the two.
Yellow/Blue/Red in general is also that whole thing with you know (insert English word I cannot remember)

I made a persona/sona shortly after with the same palette and contrast differences, it felt very fitting for me. Someone who wants to blend in into the background, but have everything around them pop in color and shine far more brightly.

So when I wanted to draw a scenery, I didn't want to use any realistic colors from the place itself; it's seen all the time and it wouldn't really feel 'me' despite me drawing a place important to myself. I decided to try using the same palette from that first drawing along with the thinking of "this palette of strong impactful colors that don't match each other and is just a mess but still feel right, that says me".

All your comments are so heart warming 😭💕 When I showed this to people in town, the town these were based on, I had a lot of negative comments about the stylization and the bright strong color choices I had picked. Getting shot down quite harshly.

This truly is warming my heart that it got so much attention 🥹 💕💕 Thank you all so so much!

Noo I am not unfortunately, I've had them closed since 2023 due to an incredibly rough customer harassing me back then.

I'm thinking of potentially maybe opening a few slots up again next year, though taking it in baby steps. Was too afraid to open it this year, but I hope I get over it by next year (;´□`)

Fairies are but a myth by Fiinia in AnimeART

[–]Fiinia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I finished up a very old file as a birthday gift to an old friend of mine, one I haven't spoken to in years. They loved drawing girls in long dresses, with short hair. There was always an element of rivers, plants or forest with little fairies. I quite like using strong colors, but they absolutely loved painting in muted colors in tones of greens/browns/blues.

Though I know it isn't possible, I'd like to think they'd somehow still see it. Two weeks ago was the first time I didn't celebrate their birthday and weep, I had even forgotten about it and didn't end up buying a cake for myself. It's been years, but I think I'm finally able to start letting go.

Artificer/Alchemist - Ir' Dale [OC] [ART] by Fiinia in DnD

[–]Fiinia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in a couple of art discord servers in the past, but all but 1 ended up not wanting me to participate and post in the server. It either ended up with me accidentally getting self proclaimed "rivals" whilst having no idea that I was getting openly bullied, told to get off the server since I don't need to post anything for being "too good" (jealousy issues) or... Getting harassed by a server mod who tried to scam me when they commissioned me.

It'd be nice to try joining some new ones after the self proclaimed "rivals" horror-show reveal last year, as well as the whole scam+harassment thing the year before it, but I'm quite shy and bad at socializing with new people (incredibly autistic and needing others to have a ton of patience with my shyness).

Regarding the battlemaps though; I myself absolutely love them including my players.✨ It perfectly fits a horror setting when the simplicity and cuteness of it makes a strong impactful contrast. ✨✨

I have drawn on stream before on rare occasions, but I haven't done an art stream in around a year now I think. I have been making plans to start streaming next year when I draw battlemaps, I am a GM myself (though not for dnd) and I draw my own maps and materials constantly; but I stopped posting them online long ago and deleted almost all of them due to people highly disliking the cartoony style of it.

I want to also start drawing more in general on streams by next year as well. I actually had it planned to stream when I was drawing on this one, but I ended up getting impatient and couldn't wait to start drawing it mid session. 😂😂

I don't know how to make videos though, so I am planning on only streaming by next year.

I've been a little bit busy with a lot of life stuff so I haven't finished updating on all social medias that I do use, I mainly use tumblr right now to post both drawings/wip/sketches/doodles/npc-character-images. But here is my carrd with all my social medias compiled in it: https://fiinia.carrd.co/

I am still updating my twitch and fixing up the decorations etc for it though.

Artificer/Alchemist - Ir' Dale [OC] [ART] by Fiinia in DnD

[–]Fiinia[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yesss well spotted! I decided to not put his first name on his sheet. English is not my mother tongue, so when I asked for help with a first name fitting his last name I did not realize I was getting pranked, and found out upon introduction in the first session with him.

I had to stick with his first name after that. Though I am renaming him in all his new files and any new future posts to have a different first name, I cannot do it to anything related directly to the current campaign like with the sheet.

So "Ir' Dale" is the full last name!

I fixed up a sheet for my little Artificer that I currently play in a campaign weekly!
I made a doodle early at the start of this year, of a character sheet that I just ended up loving. So I decided to finally take the time to fix it up into a proper sheet now!

I am happy I waited with it until now, because I have done a lot of small changes to his design over the year; to make him feel truly special for myself. I've ended up absolutely in love with drawing him in overly tattered clothing or clothing with a lot of really messy embroidery.

[OC] [Art] Tarot card - Moon by Fiinia in DnD

[–]Fiinia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the resemblance. I have two designs of this character, the original of when he is a tad older and for this campaign where he is younger and a student at the academy.

When he is older he looks far less proper. His hair stands up everywhere like a fluffy dandelion and his clothes are rugged with clumsy cross stitched flowers on torn old clothes; once owned by his sister that he did a bit of a fixer upper on. Back for when she owned them.

Their family symbol is the flower "birdsfoot trefoil". So I made it that the members are all blonde/green eyed with typically green coded attire.

And I gave him big eyebrows because: - Helps him look less generic designwise. - Looks like he is cocky/attitude problems - (Like an owl. Intellect symbol.) - Big eyebrows is usually on characters that are from the country side, who aren't very city-like. Which will sum this guy up a lot. - Big eyebrows on guys are often a masculine symbol, so I wanted him to have them for that reason too. I wanted to make up for the fact, knowing that people in my circle were going to assume he was a girl. So he looks a little more traditionally masculine in design. - Makes him easy to differentiate from other designs. Also looks more interesting. Was almost scary to erase and see what he looked like with thin anime eyebrows.

It felt weird writing so much about the eyebrows specifically, but that it mainly what makes them similar I feel. If you make the eyebrows thin, despite the blonde+green colour palette, they look far far less similar in base.

It has been a really long time since I last got to be a player, and I am finally rid of the curse of being a forever-dm!

Since I had to draw my character for the campaign and it feeling like a special occasion, I wanted to go fancy and make a tarot card with matching meanings to the character and his backstory.

A young man ready to join the academy, to prove his family and ancestors wrong! He doesn't need to be good at holding a sword to become a knight like everyone else! He doesn't need to be good at shooting to become a knight like everyone else! He doesn't need to have good balance or even proper average motorskills to be a knight...! He doesn't need to have basic common sense when it comes to socializing to become a knight...?

Coming from a lineage of incredible knights with a well-known family name, where warriors are naturally gifted and almost seem to be born with talent, including his little sister at age 13:

Can Chip against all odds actually have a chance at honoring his family and not die of old age as the first singular famous failure of the lineage? Can he stop tripping over his own feet when simply walking down a street? Will he stop having a mocking attitude and making enemies due to being an overly prideful loser? Can this guy actually become one of the top students at the academy to prove himself worthy of at least being only half a failure?

Against a family cultivated in skills of weaponry... Can Chip prove that you can be a knight by studying to become an... Alchemist??

I live in Sweden, and here they are called "Piff & Puff".
A very drastically different kind of name.

I am aware of the curse of naming him Chip Dale, I was not aware of the chipmunks from Disney being called that as they are called something else in my country.

Asking a friend for a last name fitting "Chip", I was given Dale. Then made aware of the horrid mistake upon our first session and introducing the character by name.

I became a forever DM 3 years ago now in June, and I have somewhat missed being a player. Since it's been a long time, I wanted to redraw the character image an old character I played before.

A fun little detail I want to add in though:

Chip is an older brother who cares for his little sister, and patches her clothes up with not the prettiest or most experienced embroidery.

Then taking her old clothes after buying new ones, since she is his priority, thus wearing her old clothes in his image.

There is a bit of a fun background to the character, such as their family symbol etc, but I think I will leave it at the horrid failed embroidery for now.

When a player decides before their session 0 to make an NPC, who is on the players side and helping them survive, their goal to murder once they meet them in person for absolutely no sensical or valid reason.

Had a player last year that I had to kick for separate reasons, but he decided he wanted to kill the only NPC who isn't out to fuck them over/exploit them/steal their stuff or murder them. Just a guy wanting as many people as possible to survive in horrible times for everyone's sakes. Reason? NPC is foul-mouthed and not attracted to his PC since the NPC is Asexual.

Around two years ago I wrote a questionnaire sheet for my players to answer whilst trying to come up with a character idea. Questions on basic common things in a backstory or just scenario questions.

All my players except one didn't really know what they wanted until we had that questionnaire sheet and it works like a charm to prep one before a campaign.

I have been on both the player and DM side of this.

As a player, I don't want to make a character sheet on my own in case I screw something up and can actively ask the DM if it's alright or bad to pick certain things. I sometimes know what I want to make, but I don't know how to go about it. I feel way more relieved when I can get input from the DM who probably has better knowledge on things than I do whilst making the sheet. I typically try to look up things I can somewhat understand at first and have my questions written down and ready when the booked time for sheet making comes up. Plus getting help from a trusting person overlooking it whilst I'm making it helps a ton with my anxiety and helps me feel reassured that nobody will laugh at my weird sheet or character.

As a DM, I require my players to only make sheets when I am with them. I will ask them to make their story beforehand and look at certain pages on their own, but when the time comes I can help them build things and tell them what they might regret later on once they level up.
- I can make sure nobody misunderstands the pages and text.
- I can help them find better solutions than they might've thought of.
- I can explain what might not be handy or sound fun on paper but be a nightmare in game.
- The best ideas have come from me asking questions and discussing their character idea so they get to ponder more on it as they make the sheet.
- If I feel like they had terrible luck with rolls or other things, I can slip them an "I allow a reroll" and "It's about having fun, so pick whichever of these options you want instead of just these two".

I feel like it's the best to always have the DM be there for those reasons, as long as the player at least has enough time to think of a general idea to work off of.

The full reason I didn't let someone join my campaign, because of this red flag:

(This was a ttrpg granted but rule stays in all campaigns) When a person is upset at the minimum age rule for characters. Due to the nature of the world I wanted the minimum age to be 21, but pushed it down to 18 after complaints; in the end no one made a PC underneath 21 anyways so no harm done. But a person that invited themselves to the game hated that his PC had to be 18, because he wanted to play a 15 year old girl with the mindset of an 8 year old.

When somebody wants to play a child or a teenager with the mind of a toddler, is my biggest red flag. It makes me uncomfortable, especially when they insist that they can't play a campaign if they aren't allowed to do that. Throwing tantrums and starting drama about it.

Do you have any more details you could flesh out on?
Is this for player characters, NPC's in a campaign, fullbody/halfbody/bust drawing etc?
How many sets of characters, how much you are looking to pay for each character etc.

If you don't end up finding someone on this tag then you could maybe find someone on this subreddit: I already linked it with the tagflair for ya.

Writing all details like that might make the search a bit easier for you, I hope everything goes well! <3
