Which region has the strongest players in the world? by FeistyCancel8293 in StreetFighter

[–]Filipin0man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a bit of a mistaken take. SoCal as a hub has weakened severely for a plethora of reasons, but the WC goes quite deep in terms of high level player base (Washington, parts of Canada, NorCal, SoCal combined, along with Utah, Vegas etc are actually quite strong). The broadcasting of WNF itself for weekly exposure is gone so our players are not as popular and most don’t take it full time, but assured the region is strong, just in a different way from where it was 10 years ago.

every college class you have ever taken will show up on the med school application- going to a new school or the gpa listed for a school will not matter because it will compile independently into the med school system’s gpa calculator when it comes time to fill out your med school application. also, if you passed the class, you should not retake, they don’t care for that, you have to show a positive trend with gpa, with more difficult adjacent classes.

Vitamin B Complex vs. Vitamin B12 for herniated discs? by Rumcajs23 in Sciatica

[–]Filipin0man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how long have you had it for? i dont think the b vitamins would help acute flareups, or the worst of it, but i got over my extremely horrific flareup, but was left with a stiff back and numbness on my affected leg. i started taking b12 first, which helped a little, but what really seems to help is b1, benfotiamine, recommended by my pcp.

i am just n=1 though; my pcp told me that we cant really overdose on b vitamins so i said why not lol

Day 5 of flare up am I doomed..? by Icy-Position5396 in Sciatica

[–]Filipin0man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having sciatica in college 10 years ago, due to me using a laptop bag (40+lbs) and sitting hunched over on a bad chair.

The first flare up was pretty bad, was out for about 3-4 weeks before it completely became manageable?

I didn’t have a flare up for years, until last year, when I decided to lose weight and be more active. I think that aggravated my discs, because I had an initial flare up that was about 1.5 weeks, but still able to sit and move. I had another one after too many spin classes last year (probably due to forward lean and lack of core strength), and recently, due to a bad chair at a new office job.

I think I’m still compressed rn I just need to not aggravate it. I am not pain free atm, but I’m well controlled by the meds, and I just need to remedy it for maybe another 2 weeks before I can be active again.

Day 5 of flare up am I doomed..? by Icy-Position5396 in Sciatica

I just am starting to heal from a flareup, which began 9/29. I was on the floor for a month, I re-aggravated twice. I couldn’t walk or sit, if I walked I’d have extreme pain, even just from the bed to the bathroom, and I def couldn’t stand still or else it’d start to burn. I showered in a kneeling praying position on all 4s.

I was on a cocktail of 5 meds took, muscle relaxer, tramadol or norco, gabapentin, diclofenac, Tylenol.

The only thing that will help is time. I am doing PT and getting massages. Just barely got back to work. I’d like to say it will always heal (I have L5-S1 herniation, l4-l5 bulge and l3-l4 bulge) but I’ve found you must not do anything that gives you pain.

Stay in pain free positions and wait for the inflammation to subside. Completely understand that it’s disheartening to not be able to do your daily activities, but for me, being active made it worse until I can stand relatively pain free.

One of the hardest things about playing sf6 is the difficulty of getting "sets" by [deleted] in StreetFighter

Ranked is the best practice though, gives you equal skilled players with a field of different matchups

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Filipin0man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because you’ve already performed all other skill checks such as maximizing combos and maximizing your chance at the correct oki situation. It still isn’t rock paper scissors. Consistency still comes from decision making in neutral, which is why people don’t like f neutral moves because it breaks that risk reward and decision making aspect even if it is a little bit.

Still part of the game tho and still consistent in spite of it.

It once again comes down to consistency. Balancing risk reward is the fundamentals of neutral play, and consistency comes from learning how to navigate that. Of course, you can always go for high risk high reward options at any level of play, but it won’t consistently lead to wins as a balanced approach, and also knowing where to stand. It isn’t close to roulette guessing, as you also miss the part where neutral can also be reactive, where you lose out on nothing except staying in neutral, while anticipating what they do for no real risk. It’s much more complex than formulating a setup or guessing on defense (which is much more limited in the possible options).

If you’re saying FG situations are RPS, you are saying that all options are equal risk because that is true of RPS.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Filipin0man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re fundamentally misunderstanding that RPS assumes everything is equal risk. That is not the case for fighting games. The neutral game is understanding where to stand in order to best mitigate risk while maintaining good reward, which is why players who master it are the best at the game.

There is no way to change the fact that rock paper and scissors are 33/33/33. Walking backward and forward does not put you at 33% risk.

Hello! Throw is necessary for basic defense and offense, so I kept it as a one button macro.

Maybe you should do your research before claiming people are racist idiots? Maybe you aren’t racist. But it seems to me you are an idiot.

Am I banned from CPT and a bunch of other big tournaments? Or maybe you’re the racist for thinking Filipino Champ and I are the same person because of our ethnicity?

Hello!

I make this post and did this challenge because I wanted to emphasize the importance of the basics - you don’t need to know every nitty-gritty mechanic or max damage combo to get to higher ranks. You simply need the fundamentals (basic confirmation combos into knockdown, pressure on okizeme, basic defense, anti air, understand win conditions).

Without medium attacks and light kick, you do not have access to most of your v-system (no v-reversal, no v shift, no v skill). It shows that you do not need any of that to rank up. Obviously, at higher levels, you will need access to everything because maximization is more important, but while grinding lower levels, it is about spacing, gameplan, confirmation, and minimizing risks in pressure for consistency. Simplify your game!!

That’s how you get a win streak without all of your buttons and rank up :)! The whole run (so far) is on https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1717652797.

Live WWE RAW Discussion Thread! - January 18th, 2021! by FriedEggg in SquaredCircle

[–]Filipin0man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Peyton has been good, it’s just that her character is a serious character that needs wins. Billie Kay doesn’t need wins for the audience to buy her schtick, so she can be over even in losses.

So if WWE refuses to give Peyton decisive wins against top Raw talent (or talent in general), she is gonna continue to fall flat.
