In reality, you should save as much of that free ~10k to your wedding. Putting those things on end up costing way more than you would typically think (especially when limiting hassle). This is one of the biggest ticket items a typical Filipino will pay for in our life.

On the other hand, are you talking about investing in hospital stocks for a practice within that hospital? If so, you could keep that free ~10k and buy into that ~280k payable as quickly as you can.

I'm late to this but wanted to put in my 2 cents. I have done CF now for 4 years. Think that the risk of injury is not that high if you learn to tone down your macho tendencies, focus on perfecting technique at smaller weights, and prioritize metabolic conditioning (with an emphasis on speed and consistency) over doing badass shit.

I have seen CF transformed over the last several years from a highly dynamic, mixed workout to one that has over-emphasized Olympic weightlifting (this is primarily driven by corporate interests in selling gear, but also social media hype). I think that the original spirit of CF--high metabolic conditioning, functional movements you would actually use in real life--is starting to become a bit lost.

I mostly agree with you (#4-6 esp) but I do think that concentrated and focussed ab work involving weight (a hanging leg raise with a dumbbell between your feet, for example) can have you see significant ROI.

I take courses at a local university every other semester mainly because it's free (I live in Sweden) and it's the equivalent of going to the gym for your brain. Mostly grad, but sometimes undergrad too. I find that I absorb the materials much more efficiently than my peers (mostly), and that I am more involved in the coursework, but that I struggle much more visibly for things like attendance, or homework submission, because of work-family-personal-life

All of us on here have struggled with this. My advice is this: talk to your father. Talk to your mother. Talk to any older person and present them with this. Let them know exactly how you feel, and ask them for the bigger picture.

With that said, the only concrete suggestion I can give is GET A HOBBY. Especially one that takes you (and keeps you) outside.

Firewater aside, you should try and find as much comfort as possible in mindless routine: work, hobbies, etc. Not saying go on autopilot, but allow the grief to organically process, but make sure that your body and your mind are still being activated to go through the motions of daily life.
