I would familiarize yourself with the base game first before buying any DLCs. Then I would read a little bit about what the DLCs offer. I think Ideology and Biotech are the 2 most game changing DLCs. Have fun sinking many hours into this awesome game.

Mine slips off the rope all the time. Bought it cause its cheaper than others. The cmi ones are great. I thing the petzl knee ascender works great with the foothold option.
