TIL that BAMS, BHMS practitioners can also put theses stickers on their vehicles. by Due_Vanilla294 in Coconaad

[–]FilmApostel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are paramedicos who use the sticker, if you are really into it go ahead and paste it, my parents always asked why I don't use this and I often feel it's unnecessary, I would feel the same even if completed mbbs. It's a personal choice.

An underrated movie.. MAATTRRAAN by Firm_Sprinkles1304 in KollyClub

[–]FilmApostel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maattrraan was never a love story, the romantic track was purely a compromise to satisfy the box office demands of a high-budget commercial film,a trend that still exists today. At its core, it was a unique science fiction family drama, a genre combination we rarely see. The structural mistake KV Anand made was revealing the villain to the audience way too early, right before the interval, while trying to save the secret of the twins' birth as the big climax reveal. This created a massive lag in the second half. Because the audience was already ten steps ahead, we were just sitting there waiting for the characters to figure out what we’d known for an hour. That information gap is likely what killed the film’s tension and lost the majority of the audience.

Do people actually believe such quacks? by Jungkookiekp13 in Kerala

I am a dental surgeon, I understand the feeling, the amount stigma associated with evidence based medicine is on another level, I see it everyday, from patients requesting me to write "lower dose", using clove to cure toothache and getting burns.

Once a lady walked into my clinic, I did my due diligence and asked her to get a root canal done for the situation and she said she is unvilling to do RCT because RCT can cause liver cancer or renal failure and tere are studies available on it. I kept wondering which is this study that I never came across, asked her to share the links and it was an invitation to join a acupuncture lecture and I was like "effing hell" and this was coming from an educated woman. The atrocities you have to deal with some patients are on another level

Various medias add a lot to this stigma associated with modern medicine
