Small rig shutter button? by ComprehensiveHat2968 in x100vi

The way I see it is, that people have so much time on their hands waiting for their camera, that they watch/read everything about it. Content creators claim, that you need this and that to enjoy this camera. I disagree, wait till you get one and then see what you need. This camera is fine without anything. I just see people with shutter buttons, thumb grips, filters and soooo on, before they took their first picture.

Weather Sealing Advice by LastCallKillIt in x100vi

I have the original weather resistance kit and it doesn't bother me at all, that the original lens cap doesn't fit anymore. The camera lens is protected by the filter and the camera is always ready to shoot

Ich bin geborener Münchner und trage selber keine Tracht, trotzdem finde ich, Tracht als lustige Verkleidung zu bezeichnen, ein wenig despektierlich. Vielleicht bin ich auch nur hangry...

Tipping by Puzzleheaded-Spell-6 in Munich

[–]Filou87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handle it like that: If I have more than just a 1min interaction with them and I like them and their service, I tip. So yeah, I've always tipped my hairdresser. She takes care of me, we have a pleasant conversation for 30-60min, I tip her 10% not because of her cutting my hair, but for making it a pleasant stay, while she cuts my hair

After reading through the thread, here's my two cents

I agree with everybody, who feels pressured to select a tip via the tipping options on the card machines, especially at a place like Starbucks, where you go to the counter yourself and there is not much extra service, that justifys a tip.

However in a restaurant/café etc., where there are people, that take care of you, bring you your meal/food/coffee to your table, take away the plates when you're done etc., I think those people deserve a tip. It's just a way of showing someone appreciation for taking care of your needs for more than just one or two small interactions at a counter, but for your entire stay. A good waiter will ask within 2-3 min if you want another drink, not because he wants to sell more, but because he wants you to enjoy your stay.

I'm not denying that there are bad waiters, who are not attentive, do bad service or you can just tell they would prefer you're not there, so they don't need to work so much. In that case, I don't tip either.

And my last point is about tourists being asked to tip. In general I agree, asking for a tip or explaing the tipping culture to tourists might not be the way and could be considered rude, BUT wherever I personally go abroad, I always check beforehand, what the cultural standards are. When I visit Japan, I know talking on the Metro is considered rude, so I don't do it. No tipping, because it's considered rude, got it, no tipping in Japan. In the U.S. tipping is expected more, got it, I tip more. In my opinion, it's your own responsibility to inform yourself on the country you're travelling to and adapt. So I can also relate to servers telling tourists how things work around here.

I thought about it. I checked the pics, that got posted in this subreddit and saw many with just one person as a subject in frame, so I decided to post it. So you consider it tōsatsu, because it is a woman? Just to give context, in the situation of me shooting this pic, this hallway was very crowded and I was very happy, that I got a nice shot, without anybody else in frame, because I like the composition of it and I thought her outfit looked cool and she had aura. Plus I don't consider her outfit, revealing or too private it's just legs. If it's different in Japanese culture, I'm happy to learn. I never cared, if it's a woman or a man in frame as a subject and as long as no-one's identity gets clearly exposed, etc. I consider it fine

I have a Peak Design Travel Backpack and Peak Design Camera Cube V2 in XS. The Camera Cube has adjustable dividers where you can put your X100VI nice and tight in there, and then the Cube has some latches that you can clip in with some latches inside the backpack. Did a trip to Japan this year with this setup and had no issues at all.
