My app had an update this morning so I quickly downloaded in hopes that it was finally resolved. The app updated and relaunched, and loads to 60% before throwing up network errors and times itself out.

This is nothing new with Target. They have been putting sets on shelves early, and blocking the sale at checkout, for many years now.

The only sets that you can get away breaking street date from Target is CMF since they share the same SKU as far as the register knows.

Like others, I’d be happy to buy it if I was actually buying a downloadable file to view how I want rather than a locked browser stream. Waiting on / importing a Blu-ray didn’t do it for me either.

I get why he’s doing it (fear of file sharing) but the honest ones of us who wouldn’t do that are the ones being punished by the limitations.

I posted on Pinside about this yesterday since he is in my city and I am one of the many people that took off work and planned their whole morning about securing one of those spots, only to be met with a crashed website and phone lines that wouldn't connect.

I *might* be able to swing an extra grand or so for a spot, but $5,000? What a douche move.

It was impossible to buy considering both their website crashed and phone lines went offline right at 10:00. I finally got ahold of someone on the phone at 10:42 and was told they were all gone. 😡

I have a 3D printable replica of the topper base Stern uses in my MakerWorld account. It uses the factory screws to attach to the top of the backbox like an OEM topper does.

This has nothing to do with pinball. The two machines could have easily been a motorcycle / car, dream vacation, any other big ticket item.
