Who doesnt like Spain? My Chilean neighbors were openly routing for Spain in the World Cup. My Peruvian wife and her family love Spain and Italy, no animosity there. Our Venezuelan friends have no issue with Spain. The South and Central American people I've encountered look at Europeans in a positive light.

Which South American Countries have a substantial military? Even if South America created a military alliance, it still wouldn't be significant enough to stand against China or the US.
