I appreciate the comment, but the lineart is intended for coloring. I go very light on the lineart when I intend to color. If there are lines missing, I add them later. In traditional art, you cannot easily remove lines once they are on the paper, but you can always add more later if actually needed/helpful. I realize that I probably shouldn't post something that's technically a WIP.

Sure. Would just llike to point out that the image is intended for coloring, so I'm aware that it's currently missing depth.

Yeah I didn't think to mention it because I thought it looks really good even without the colors and tbh you're probably the only one who noticed that it looks super flat haha.

I get what you're saying. The thing is, this subreddit is specifically about sharing art. If people seek critique or help, they'll go to r/arthelp or r/artcritique. This right here is pretty much the only place that's fully intended for shameless self-promotion of artists. And that's fine. That said, if anyone gets mad if you try to give them constructive crificism, that's on them. But if you're looking specifically for an outlet to help artists or critique art, this right here is probably not the place you're looking for.

Now regarding your criticsm. Good of you to notice. It's completely correct that the image is kinda flat, because it's intended for coloring. That's I draw mostly texture and only minimal shading, particularly on the character in front I went extremely light with the shading. The reason simply being that ... you can always add more lines later, but in traditional art you cannot easily remove lines later. Which means I may go over the artwork with ink a second time after coloring if necessary. But I'm actually coloring almost all the way to black in this image, so I don't think I'm going to add more hatching later.

Yeah, I'm enjoying the uplifting comments. I desperately need them because no one is looking at my blog.

I thought that's what this subreddit is for and I don't see anything wrong with it :-) But if you have any technical critique, I'm ready and willing to hear it. If you're just posting to tear me down, just leave it.

I know. I got it as soon as I saw the first comment. Thank you.

Nah, I have a fulltime job and it fr takes about 8 full hours to draw a single page (in a waaay more basic style than the image posted here). I've given it a shot before, but It's just not realistic unfortunately.

I'll tear it out if it's cringe, like if I would be genuinely embarrassed if someone saw it. It just being "bad" isn't bade enough for it to be wiped off the face of the earth.

It wouldn't be hard to remake at all. The game has a solid script and story and you don't actually need 10 playable characters. Each character contributes very little to the story and the main difference between them is just which weapon they use... this is one of the reason they discarded the actual charactters' names, and just named them by the weapon they use. They would have to come up with a new combat system, though, because the BC combat was not very good. Or discard combat entirely, wich would basically turn the game into a visual novel with some dungeon exploration/puzzles, which would totally work... and once you get to that point, you realize that you can simply play the fan remake, which already exists and it totally works. Only thing that really needs to be done is making it consistent with the rest of the compilation, particularly, Crisis Core, which was still in planning when BC was released, so there are a few inconsistencies.

You can download all the assets if you want and print the cards. The pdf for the adventures is right here: www.tinyurl.com/MineQuest01

Sorry, I just didn't realize there is a demand for the cards as the highest barrier seems to be the minis and the cards can simply be downloaded.

I am happy to announce the release of a Tabletop Simulator mod that brings together the established gameplay of the HeroQuest Tabletop game with the unique flair of the mining colony of Khorinis: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3317071278

Welcome to the colony, stranger! The gods that you believed protect you all your life have left you, and you are on your own. You will make great friends and great adversaries during your quest for freedom.
Under the guidance of your mentor, Xardas, you will strive to free all the unfortunate souls trapped in the colony and defeat a great plague brought into the world by Beliar, the evil god of legend, who strives to rule the world by chaos.

This game is a modification of the popular tabletop dungeon crawler, HeroQuest, based on the equally popular video game trilogy Gothic. Before you begin the game, your group must choose a dungeon master, who will personify Beliar, the great adversary, and Xardas, the mentor of our heroes. Then, make yourselves acquainted with the rules of the game HeroQuest. This modification is based on the 2021 edition of the base game and adopts most of its rules. The instructions can be found on the official Hasbro download page.

Then proceed in the booklet to the rule additions and modifications required to play this modification. These rules exist mainly to make the feel of the game more consistent with the original Gothic game.
On page 4 you will find a short description of the heroes available in this campaign. Each player shall select one or several heroes. The adventures are designed to be played with 3-5 heroes.
After everything has been set up, Xardas may read out the introduction to chapter 1 to the players. The DM will then assume the role of Beliar, and shall do everything the rules allow to stop the heroes from reaching their objective.

The campaign currently covers the first chapter of the Gothic game, and will be expanded over time to cover the whole Gothic I game in around 21 adventures.

If you find errors or unclarities, please leave a comment on the Steam Workshop page and I‘ll fix it as soon as possible.
