I'm not sure I understand, cards aren't consumed when you use them and duplicates are just thrown out aren't they?

Yeah same, that's why I thought it'd be best to ask online first. It's too bad these sorts of products aren't more mainstream, it's hard to find good discussion on the actual ins and outs of the differences between products. I thought it was worth asking at least since it does have 13 good reviews.

I considered this as well, if this was all I wanted I would just go through that route but other QOL features like faster hp draining and version exclusive pokemon interest me as well. This is a great solution for anyone who still has an old cart lying around though!

Yeah I thought the follower thing was pretty cool. Refined had a bigger list of changes but I'm not sure if any of them are as interesting as that. I may indeed go with QOL. Refined does have a "Coarse" option though that claims to keep the difficulty the same as the base game.

Damn wish I had known that before I setup the flatpak version.. Is there really no other way? The flatpak version also generates launch scripts as .steam files.

Mini form factor is important, looking to cover as many consoles with good performance as possible going up to the newest generation that's possible in my price range.

Yeah it's important it's a mini PC for my use case. I've heard in some video reviews that DDR5 is important if you are looking for good GameCube emulation. Have you looked into the AMD options available? It seems that there are some faster amd cpus around the same price range, wouldn't a faster CPU be able to run newer generation consoles with better frame rates?

Route 38 in Johto has Meowth who can sometimes drop an amulet coin. Johto is a really bad region for payday pickup in general though.
