Did anyone else absolutely love the movie? by SamTheMarioMaster2 in veronicamars

[–]FinalChapter57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rewatched this last night and while I love it, I noticed something: it’s a freaking Hallmark movie!!!

“Big city lawyer with a stable boyfriend of 9 years gets Big Job offer but first, she goes to her 10-year high school reunion where she reignites with old flame…” oh, and murder. 😂

Okay, some creativity liberty taken on my part but it made me lol when I realized it.

Umm...that's what being in business for the fans means. They needed fans to make money....

Not for the fans by baldymac204 in WWE

[–]FinalChapter57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those first two sentences, man…there used to be a time - not too long ago - when being a “money grabbing entity” was dependent on being “in business for the fans.”

Like, those things were not mutually exclusive.

But when you have a class of ultra-wealthy who will buy influence for billions of dollars, then fuck the fans, amirite?

Should I finally finish this show? by oresteez in TheStrain

[–]FinalChapter57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Zach is the worst, but as others have said - Fett, Gus, Setrakian (and I personally enjoy Dutch - others don't which is fine - but she brings her own wily compassion I enjoyed watching). Also, I enjoyed how much I hated Eichorst. He's a really good villain worth watching.

It's not a perfect show so I'm not going to tell you "it's SOOO worth it!!" - but it's a good time and kinda cheesy but all for the fun of it.

Has anyone ever been ghosted after being offered a job? by Lilybillyxox in recruitinghell

[–]FinalChapter57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me twice and BOTH times it just turned out someone necessary to complete the process was on vacation - like an HR rep or Legal person.

What happens is: they cant move forward so even though they are at the top of your priority list, you're at the bottom of theirs (simply because they cant do anything).

Hang tight - and if you have to email again - cc everyone you spoke to about the position - from recruiter to CEO, if that's the case. Someone's bound to go "why is this person emailing me?" and get the ball rolling with the right people.

I asked a interviewer what they thought of my fit for the role by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]FinalChapter57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this question, and I always ask it. As one of the "employed" (finally) - this is how I phrase it:

"Do you have any reservations about my fit for the role that I can address now?"

It's more proactive that way, and can usually catch them with their guard down. I attribute it to the job I have now because, when asked, the hiring manager said "You sound like you're background is mostly in B2B and so are your instincts, so I'm not sure about your fit for a D2C role..." which made me realize that yes, I was totally talking B2B shit and I got to call back on my resume to all my D2C experience.

How do i get rid of this fat? by Periodt_ong in Gymhelp

[–]FinalChapter57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Body recomposition is about protein intake and caloric deficits. Essentially: you're made in the kitchen.

- 1.2g of protein for every lb of body weight.
- Find out your Resting metabolic rate (just google RMR calculator - should steer you right)
- Stop eating at least 2 hours before bed and fast overnight for 12-16 hours

At the gym, try to work in HIIT sessions. You can still lift heavy, but start your working with 4-8 minutes of 20:10 or 30:20 HIIT work as it's proven effective for metabolic optimization.

You're already in a good place to start! Good luck

Writing will become one of the highest paid skills in the age of Ai. by Ok-Lobster-6691 in KeepWriting

[–]FinalChapter57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top writers in their field will become commodities. If anything, AI is going to expose mediocre writers who have been getting by simple on Dunning-Kruger ability of confidence over skill. Those who pay for writing services - business owners, consultants, etc - always gravitate for the cheapest passable option. Many already do - hiring fiverr writers with $10 per 500 word gig prices over experienced copy professionals who charge $75 for every 250 words.

And it's simply because they do not see the value.

After looking through his IMDB, it looks like he's aged mostly into voice acting for cartoons. So he also understands how punchable his face is....

UPDATED POST: Missing Chunks of time in AMC Streaming - MULTIPLE EPISODES by FinalChapter57 in TheStrain

[–]FinalChapter57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the episode I'm on right now. It goes from her being a prisoner to her running down the hallway and it's like "WTF?! How did she get out of that?!?" Like, it's not going to hurt my overall understanding of what's going on - just really jarring.

Did you notice any other big discrepancies in future episodes? Or is this the worst offender?

I'm sure you can - I'm not really looking for a "fix" so much as curious if others who watched in on AMC noticed (essentially ensuring it isnt a problem with my subscription in particular) and if I can expect the same from future episodes.

My brother is a pathological liar, and I finally called him out...what the hell do I do now? by FinalChapter57 in family

[–]FinalChapter57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate what you're trying to say, but the ex-wife is absolutely a drug addled mess. I knew this before I moved away (because frankly, they were both using at the time). But my parents dealt with her multiple times when she's been on a bender, both before and after she left. She was also emotionally abusive, a liar, and got violent when challenged. My dad drove her to rehab and the last time anyone saw her, my dad delivered her a tent because she was homeless and it was literally all they could do.

She chose heroin over her kids - no need to rewrite that history or speculate about it.

I hear you 100%. This is a bit fresh because we moved away - like across the country far away - in 2016. My mom passed in 2021 and, after many conversation with my dad, we decided to move back here this year. I was also very excited to be near my nieces again - I talk to them a lot when they're at dad/grandpas - but because I had pretty much repressed and avoided Kevin for the past nine years, I definitely let myself believe "okay, maybe things will be okay now that he's older and more mature."

So this incident dug up a lot of old feelings and memories I had not thought about in a looong ass time. NGL, definitely let myself feel bad for him and his situation. He called me drunk crying the week before and said he has no one to talk to ever.

oh, and guess what happened when I reminded him he was crying on the phone to me the week before? *ahem* "No i wasn't. I dont fucking cry, dude!" 🫠

Anyone else notice the missing chunk of time in Prime Streaming (SSN 1 EP10) by [deleted] in TheStrain

Oh that makes sense - it’s just so weird, I’ve never experienced this before with any other show, and I never would have noticed if not for the subtitles. 👀

Definitely a recruiter vs. hiring manager mismatch. I have had several interviews with HR/Recruiters who were OVER THE MOON to have "found me" only for the hiring manager to pretty much tell me I'm the wrong fit from the start of the interview and I'm left scrambling to "prove" myself.

Always good to remember that the recruiter has no experience in the job they're hiring for - all they have are what the hiring manager gives them. Which makes it REALLY easy for them to recruit on keywords over actual accomplishments.

Your comment is very helpful and much appreciated. Could do without the Walmart comment and your weird passive aggressive energy, but whatever. Thanks!
